Lacie Rikki 1TB
I chose the 1 TB Model.+ The speed is really good, with up to 120 MB/s i am able to work directly off the drive.+ Size: This drive is really small. It fits nearly everything+ Design/quality: The drive is built very solidly. The design is beautiful and will fit on nearly any desk. It is robust, and you can feel the quality.+ Prize: The price is incredibly low for such a high quality producto Software: The software in my eyes is neither positive nor negative. It works just fine, but id rather lose the additional drivers. i liked the time when drives were just drives and had no pre-installed software on them.- Cable: I went for a 3rd party cable for 2 reasons. The important reason is, that the cable was too short for my desk. The second is, that it is very stiff, i could not align it as i wanted. Conclusion:I can highly recommend this product. Some of you might need to buy an additional longer cable, but this is hardly a big negative point. Everything else is quite perfect and has fully deserved a 5* rating!

Good product for the price
Don't buy it.I have had Lacie hard drive in the past it was super fast back in the days. 5 years ago. When I bought this drive it's slower than my previous hard drive. I mean it look styliush and strong but no performance. Before this hard drive I was using WD usb 2.0 nothing wrong with it and transfer data between 28-32mb per sec. This hard drive is relatively new to so I was expecting a transfer speed between 60-100 Mb/sec what I got is half of my expectation.Performance of this har drive:USB 2.0:01 Min 22.0 Mb/sec03 Min 20.9 Mb/sec05 Min 19.9 Mb/sec10 Min 19.5 Mb/secAverage:20.57 Mb/secUSB 3.0:01 Min 40.0 Mb/sec03 Min 38.0 Mb/sec05 Min 39.6 Mb/sec10 Min 43.1 Mb/secAverage:40.17 Mb/secMy previous WD westren digital 2.0 USB use to transfer date up to 32 Mb/sec. I regret getting rid of it. When I bought this hard drive I have had high expectation plus I have bought an express card to use it with this junk hard drive. My advice don't buy it.-------------------------------Update 13/10/2012:It's a good product after trying the new WD.

LaCie Rikiki Superspeed 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive THE BEST EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE
This is a very complete external hard drive. The design, the materials used to manufacture it, makes it one of the most strong hard drive. Even though I have only US 2.0 on my laptop, the transfer speed of this device exporting big files is excellent, compared to the increase I could obtained after buying a LaCie USB 3.0 Express Card 34 to become my USB 2.0 ports to USB 3.0 and that way take advantage of the speed. It would have a great performance also without this LaCie USB 3.0 Express Card 34, the USB 2.0 speed is amazing. It came preloaded with Genie Timeline software which allowed me to back up a lot GB's of data from my laptop about 400 GBs, and whenever I made a change or add anything new to my computer, it backs it up automatically in the background. Also with LaCie Destop Manager wich allows me to manage my LaCie Rikiki Superspeed 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive. All the manual and instruction digitally preloaded in PDF Format, with Instructions on the box for a quick formatting and installation. As an extra bonus 10 GBs of LaCie WUALA for starting backing up on the Cloud. I did a lot of research before buying this brand and model, and after getting it and using it I am very satisfied. Thanks Amazon for selling it to me, and LaCie for designing it and manufacturing it. Something else, their Customer Support is one of the best I ever had. Thanks a lot!! DON'T BUY THIS THING!
I bought this, and it worked great at first, super fast. I should have paid more attention to the reviews before I bought it, though. About 6 months of light use (no traveling with it, just sitting on my couch connected to my computer for a few hours at a time), the connection stopped working. Now, in order to transfer files to it, I have to hold in the cord and push at exactly the right angle or it will disconnect, and this really hurts my hand! I can do about one movie at a time before my hand gets too tired (if I can even hold it steady enough to not disconnect). At this rate, I doubt I will be able to even get my stuff off of there, which really pisses me off because I bought this thing to store all my movies on because they were taking up too much space on my mac. I looked at other reviews and saw this happened to them too. I also tried buying a new cord, and it doesn't help at all. The problem in with the product! Don't buy it!

Quiet, efficient, and beautiful
I made the choice to purchase the Rikiki 1 TB portable HD after reading many reviews about it and comparable products. I have been very happy with the device after owning it for ~6 months. The ease of installation, quietness of the drive, and the streamlined design make it ideal for my application. I use it to back up two different machines - leaving it plugged into my iMac usually, but occasionally backing up my MacBook Pro. The drive case stays cool all the time. My only small qualm would be the short length of the USB cable, but that's not a big deal at all. Great product overall, I recommend it.

Good
Fast, stylish, quite light.Seems just a little fragile, would have been better with some protection, but not such a big issue

Excellent and simple to use
My previous external hard drive had 250Gb, about the size of a brick and that doesn't count the power supply! This 1Tb LaCie Rikiki drive is excellent, I plugged it into my Apple Macbook Pro and after a simple installation process it worked seamlessly with time machine. Very quiet in operation and since its powered by the usb port, there's no tangle of cables and very easy to plug it into my wife's macbook and backup her files as well. Highly recommended.

Thinnest, Sturdiest, Fastest Hard Drive
I love the size of the hard drive, it's actually shorter then my Samsung Galaxy S3 and thin as the base (when the laptop is open) of my 2012 Macbook Pro. The data transfer speeds are 50mb/s while using ExFat partition system. It could probably be faster if formatted to your own needs. NTFS for Windows and HFS+ for MAC. I use both operating systems so ExFat is the best as it is recognized on both systems. It's made of brush dark black/grey aluminum. Casing feels very stiff and does not bend inward. The suddenshock system on the hard drive works well to protect you data. The drive is also very silent you would have to put your ear up to it to hear the hard drive spinning. It does not need external power, this is a PORTABLE HARD DRIVE. There's a microUSB3.0 port on the back of the unit. Which is good because if you ever lose the included cable, USB3.0 is the new standard so you'll be able to buy a new cord without hassle. If you want you can also plug in a MicroUSB2.0 cable and it will still work just slower.I bought mine for $98 with tax and freeshipping. If you can get it for this price it's a great deal. 10cents/GB.Great Work LaCie. And Thank you Amazon for offering it at a great price.

Trusted Brand, Great Buy!
Decided it was time to upgrade from my old 160GB LaCie mobile drive to something with a higher capacity. I had my old LaCie Mobile Hard Drive for 5 years and never had any issues. I really enjoy the aluminum casing and styling of the Rikiki device. It was very easy to setup and simply use right out-of-the-box. The drive itself is much smaller than I expected based on the photos. It is very quiet and performs very well (I didn't clock transfer speeds but am more than satisfied with the performance on my laptop with USB 2.0 ports). Two things I had a hard time determining were (1) how long the included Cable was and (2) if the device required a separate cable/power adapter to power the device. The transfer cable is quite long measuring over 12 inches and is quite thick. I use another cable I had around the house that is much more flexible and shorter given how small the Rikiki device is itself. Additionally, the hard drive is plug-n-play meaning it requires no secondary power supply/cable to power the unit. Overall, I am very satisfied with the styling and performance of the Rikiki mobile drive. My only con to the product is the somewhat bulky and long transfer cable included in the box. Otherwise, the hard drive itself is fantastic!

Fast cost effective and portable
Like it, practical cost effective and fast. Would buy again. And of course its look is tops (which of course is a marginal issue for an external drive, but it does not hurt either)
