One of the prongs broke off but I was standing I. The edge of a pond bank… overall “it will kill,” DM.

Works excellent even for a novice. Only drawback is that it has 2 holes in the pole when fully extended that allow water to fill the pole. This wont be a problem if gigging from shore, but I gig from a kayak and often use it to push off the bottom to get closer to the frog after putting my paddle in the holder.So I have to wait for it to drain before thrusting it. But I assume any one buying a frog gig for use from a kayak has the inginuity to find something to plug the holes. After a night of heavy use and novice abuse, (tree trunks, rocks) one of the tines bent but was easily bent back into place. I had loads of fun with it and it is well worth the price.

It broke the first use

Pretty bad gig pole. Nearly fell off a 4ft bank using this. I had it fully extended and when I got the frog, the locking mechanism failed and collapsed in on me. Luckily I have the reflexes of a nimble cat and didn't fall in, and got the frog to my surprise. It folded in on me several times tonight, the little nipple doesn't snap into the hole tightly. It's decent if you don't have it extended. If it is extended don't put all of your weight on it, because it's gonna collapse in and you're going for a ride.

Love the length to get fish and frogs that are farther out in the pond. It’s sturdy, and does what I want.
