We are a family of 2 parents, 2 teenagers - tumble dryer always seemed to be on throughout late autum and winter months and being worried about potentially large 'leccy bills coming our way, we thought about uprating our small clothes airer.Never intended to spend this much on one - nothing like. Didn't know you could in fact, but we did and to be honest, don't regret it at all.Fully extended, it will hold at least 2 full loads of our 9kg washing machine - nicely spaced as well. Closed down for storage, sits behind the door so you wouldn't notice it.Very adaptable to suit type and amount of clothes - shirt rail holds 8 teenage school shirts with space in-between (Rail is a little low for a mans shirt to hang fully down so 4-5 of those to space nicely). Plus can hang clothes on hangers around the edges as well - skirts, polos, t-shirts, shirts etc, so maybe three washing machine loads is viable.When opened out, its big enough to lay a couple big bath towels flat across it or our king-size bed sheets.No assembly to speak of upon arrival - comes with an Allen key, fit the wheels - sorted.Of course, you'll need the space to use it fully opened out, but it is easy to move around, full or folded.An argument is, 'you spent £180 - how is that saving money?' - And you're right, I imagine it will take a few winters to get my money back but the build quality is decent, its a well thought out design and I reckon it'll see me out. It will also get use in summer in the garden of course. Think of it as long-term saving.(As I write this, just seen someone on Amazon selling these for £489.99 - thats crazy money, its not worth anything like that but they maybe (hopefully) haven't got stock and just don't want to lose the ad space).

I have two more Foppa Pedretti clothes airers, in different sizes for different uses - one I inherited from my mother in law, and it has been going strong for more than 30 years. This is outstanding quality, beautiful design and so very very solid, but also oh so clever! Acres of lining space, that goes away compactly when not in use. And if space is at a premium, the additional hanger bar is very useful. Delighted with this purchase!

This is absolutely brilliant and I'm so glad I bought it. When you see the price of other similar items out there this is by far the best value. It's revolutionised my washing! Dramatic statement I know but it really is fantastic. The design and sturdiness is so good. It won't blow over as it has brakes and holds so much washing in a small space. Can't recommend it enough!

Great Airer, takes up a fair amount of space but I like the design. It's not the tallest one in the range so if you have lots of king sized sheets to dry you may want to look at one of their other models. I particularly liked the hanger rail for delicate items. It was easy to assemble and I'm confident it will last for years. Just be careful when collapsing as you could potentially trap your fingers if you don't follow instructions. Perfect for indoor use.

This dryer uses space very efficiently. You can expand it as you need and it will hold at least a couple of machine loads. It is well designed and the aluminium frame is very stable. My main concern is the use of Polypropylene plastic for the drying spars and top frame, hence four stars. The spars are replaceable but for the price one might have hoped for aluminium spars and hinges; I benefited from an Amazon warehouse deal, so I got it much reduced price. A major advantage with this dryer is that some of the rails are longer for those that have have large T shirts etc to hang without folding in half. I notice that the support brackets that several reviewers have complained about breakages seem to have been updated to a more robust version that sits on the top of the cross-brace, so that might be worth considering when choosing between wood and aluminium.

I have had this airer now for 1.5 years. I did a lot of research as we live in a small house (very small) but needed an airer that would cope with washing for a family. This is so compact for putting away when not in use, takes up so little space. When pulled out it dries a full load with ease. It is just great for our needs. I do not regret the cost that it is, well designed, robust, provides so much space. Worth every penny!

When I saw this item & looked at its design it was so simple but looked really effective.I purchased this & I must say its probably the best clothes airer Ive ever owned.Simple, Robust, Excellent drying space & easily moved around the house thanks to its wheels.It may cost more than other cheaper versions on the market but in my opinion its better in terms of build quality & drying space.In conclusion you get what you pay extra for.Well done Foppadretti for an excellent piece of household drying equipment which helps to make housework easier.

A great and sturdy, big enough to hold 2 washes…. Takes a lot of space on the room
