ZN502650 Long Reach XL Dual Pivot Needle Nose Pliers

I just bought a replacement for a pair of these pliers that I believe was stolen by a member of my gardening crew. It cost me $15 and I figured just replacing it was better than the hassle of freaking out. The good news is that when you want to replace a tool you lost, you know it was useful to you. I originally bought these pliers for a very specific task. Something had fallen down and gotten stuck in a bathroom sink drain and I need a narrow set of plier to reach in and grab it. I was delighted when right after I got this tool, I was able to immediately insert the pliers and grab what had clogged the drain.I ended up using pliers for a variety of "grabber" tasks given their precise operation and extended reach. I don't really use them to pry or ply as I might more traditional pliers, but you can get sufficient torque with them. The accordion style opening system means the grip doesn't need to widely opened in order for the plier teeth to separate. Overall I find myself using these plier often enough to put them in my main set of tools. As a DIY handyperson for my own home, I need inexpensive and versatile tools that help me get a broad range of little jobs done. This is certainly one of them.

I needed something to grab and clear long hair clogs from my tub drain, down about 3-4” and this tool worked well. It was much higher quality than I thought it would be, and actually a little larger than I thought it would be, which was a little problem because of the size of the drain, but it did work OK. I’m very satisfied with this purchase.

Had an obstruction in a 2 inch PVC swimming pool pipeline, that we could not remove after many days of effort. With this needle-nosed tool and that amazing extra-long, narrow reach not only could we reach the obstruction,but could very firmly grasp it and pull it out. The narrow nose, with sharp serrations and a very secure grasp made the job possible. By far the most impressive and effective hand tool I've ever had!

I really should have taken pictures before returning it. Two maybe things, it was a teeny bit rusty with a small chip at the tip and there was a little play from all the joints. Overall it was a fine very specific purpose tool however I specifically got it to yank out an ignition coil boot that got stuck on the spark plug for our 2006 Toyota prius. The prius' spark plugs are housed in the rear stupidly so I couldn't get anything inside other than maybe normal pliers that didn't reach. I ended up using a little black pipe that cost me $40 but it did the job in 10 seconds when I tried to take out for over half a year. So, worth it.There was some wiggle but its expected with so many joints and the grip strength was alright. I tried to pinch my finger first to see if it got a good grip and I'd say it was acceptable when you first get it but it may get weaker quickly with usage if you find uses for it.

I had a flat piece of plastic wedged in the garbage disposal between the blade and flush against the wall. I spent several hours trying to pry it out and even removed the disposal unit for better access but no luck. You just cannot get proper leverage with standard pliers. They are too short and there's no space to maneuver the handle or position the nose.I was about to call it in for service but decided to give these Long Reach pliers a try. It took, literally 30 seconds and voila! These $15 pliers saved me at least $100. I even got the disposal cleaned out and better positioned and more tightly secured during my DIY misadventures.These pliers have good balance and feel very sturdy and the handle has great grip feel. It doesn't spread as wide as some might like but that's really nit-picking. Very happy. Great value.Lesson learned? You really do need the right tools for certain jobs.

I bought these for a simple job....small space, far reach. They worked perfectly well. For hard to reach, narrow spaces, perfect tool to add dimension to your tool collection.

These sturdy well made pliars did exactly what I bought them for. The pliars have a great handle operate smoothly with excellent grip. I bought these pliars to remove a toothbrush my child stuffed down the bathroom sink drain. I couldn't get them out by way under the sink and the only option was to go in through the drain. The pliars fit perfectly in the bathroom sink drain, grabbed the toothbrush through the trap and it came right out no hassle (perfect grip no slippage). The pliars fit in small areas with length to spare . Great purchase.

Got these for removing hooks when a fish gut hooks themselves. Work great. We keep them in the garage and have been using them all the time for this and that. Also really handy when working on the truck.
