Bought a pair of these lookalikes after the starter cartridge on my Brother 2340 expired very quickly. How come Brother make such a superb printer for a price half that of a few years ago, economise on toner powder (the cartridge "hardware" must cost the same surely?), and then expect users to fork out over half the cost of the printer itself on a genuine toner cartridge. Does anyone - except corporate customers possibly - actually do that?Yes I am a little wary of "compatible" products. I had one of the first budget laser printers some years ago and when I installed a lookalike cartridge in it I found that the toner powder was lumpy - and left splodges all over my printed pages (and the office carpet). Not what you want at all, and so I migrated to inkjets for a while...... But the cost of printing by laser is so cheap (like almost for free) that I soon returned to laser printing and since then have used a succession of Brother printers which I replace when the drum unit reaches the end of its' life (it's cheaper that way).I do read the reviews on here carefully before I buy. One lookalike toner is very much like the rest I find. But any review that mentions any compromise of printing quality or life of the cartridge (or any other reported issues that are clearly down to the print cartridge) then I move on - there really is plenty of choice in this field. Just watch out for reviews that indicate misuse or a very old drum, as they may paint a false picture if surrounding reviews are positive.I was a little disappointed with these cartridges when first installed. Installation is as simple as it could be, but initially printing was decidedly grey, rather than black. I checked both the printer settings and my installation (had I forgotten to remove a seal?). I also removed and gently shook the cartridge (as per instructions) once again to ensure the toner was evenly distributed. But after about 20 sheets of A4 had passed through, the printing was back to top quality jet black. I guess that since the previous starter cartridge had become completely exhausted, the drum needed time to pick up the toner again properly.All fine now. Other reviews indicate that these cartridges have a decent lifespan. So at less than a tenner a go, a good buy in my book.

New drum installed approx. 4 weeks ago - printer requesting new drum again??!!

Item worked ok for a few weeks and then displayed a faulty notice - I tried to contact the seller because the return period had expired and the seller directed me to Amazon to sort the problem out - now I am left with a faulty drum - a waste of money. I won't be using this seller again.

EVERY TIME TRIED TO INSERT IT TO MY PRINER MESSAGE RECEIVED FROM PRINTER REPLACE DRUM. WASTE TO TIME.

Did not work with printer. Cause paper jams every time I tried using it. Disappointed
