Britain's world beater, the BAC 1-11
Part one of a two disc set (to be bought separately) it tracks the progress of the BAC 1-11 short haul airliner from the assembly, testing and first flight of the prototype right to the initial users of this remarkable aeroplane. All period shot, mostly in colour there are some wonderful scenes of the aircraft in service with American Airlines, Braniff, Mohawk, Aer Lingus, British Eagle, to name but a few. A veritable trip down aviation memory lane with what was Britain's most successful airliner for decades, only superseded by the Avro 146. Well done Avion, I can't wait to watch part II.
