Saved me a bundle
Needed to get the chimney cap replaced because a branch had knocked off the one installed on my house by the previous owners, and the chimney sweep indicated it had been forced on and wasn't the right fit.Option to buy one on the spot for about twice the price, or order it myself; I ordered it. Chimney sweep still got theirs because I had to replace the lining for the furnace exhaust, but I had them install the cap while doing that other work. This is well built and much better quality than the cap that was replaced. Definitely a good option, especially if you're a DIYer.

Durable, Stylish, and Meant to Last
This is the first Chimney Cap I've ever purchased, but with most everything I buy I made sure to do my research first. Stainless steel is absolutely the way to go for chimney caps if you want a product and material that is going to last. The great thing about the stainless steel variant of chimney caps is that it is going to compliment almost any exterior decor while doing its intended job for a very long time - protect the chimney cap.The price on Amazon is about 15% less than the local brick and mortar home improvement stores and ships with the same time frame you can expect to receive of Amazon shipments. My Forever Cap has been on for about two months now and still looks new! Much better than my neighbor's galvanized steel cap that's only going to last them ~5-10 years before rusting.**Disclaimer**The actual product only has one screw on each side opposed to the picture depicting two screws on the long side. I didn't find this to be an issue when I installed mine, as it installed very securely and passing my "tug on it" test. It didn't budge!

This appeared to be more well-made than caps in the big box home improvement retailers. Packaging was fair, and the box arrived slightly damaged, but the cap was fine. The cap was a bit larger at the base than I expected, and I had about 3/4" clearance all around the base against my tile flue. That said, I very much like this cap, and would absolutely recommend to others.

Not confident that the cap will survive strong winds
Although nice looking, I do not believe this product is designed well.Unlike the picture on Amazon, there is only one bolt on each side, not two on the long sides. Because of only four small bolts securing this to the chimney top, I am worried that it may blow off in a strong wind. The stainless steel sides have plenty of give and flex. So, when you tighten the screws, the thin stainless steel flexes outward. This flexing does not allow the screws to tighten securely onto the chimney.

Seems substantial and was easy to install
Seems substantial and was easy to install. Has one shiny bolt on each side, but cannot tell if they are also of stainless steel: foolish design if they are not.The corner is square but the flue is rounded at the corner; so there a small gap through which squirrels could enter. But this may not be likely because the flue is in use.

Spend the money on a forever stainless cap and be done with it.
The best! I have bought three forever caps over the years for three different buildings. All stainless steel is the way to go! The first one I bought is 6 years old and looks as good now as the day I put it on the chimney 6 years ago.

Poor attachment
I bought an 8" x 13" Cap. It came with only 4 screws for 4 attachment holes while the picture shows clearly 6 holes. Also they do not provide a sheet metal strip to go between the screw and the terracotta chimney. However this cap is strongly built, that's why I decided to keep it.

OK, but you might need to buy longer bolts
This was ok, and does the job, but despite the fact my chimney met their specs the provided bolts were not long enough to clamp it on, and I had to buy replacements.

Missing hardware
Product looks good but box was previously opened and the hardware to install was missing

Good Value
These have worked well for us, bought a few months ago. We had a 90+km wind storm and they stayed on our chimney tops despite the gusts of wind! I thought for sure they would be gone. Impressed!

It's a keeper.
This works well keeping rain out. Bolts could be longer.
