My favorite travel guides!
I’ve been using Fodor’s travel books and guides since 1995. They have never failed me when preparing and planning a domestic or international adventure. I highly recommend them!

Digital copy worse than worthless, worthless with a gigantic helping of frustration
Digital copy is terrible. Bought this thinking it would be much easier to carry my kindle than a big guide book. Turns out the digital copy of this book is completely worthless. You can't search for things. Look up something like Plaza Espana, it gives you the link to every single time the word Plaza is used in the book. Pages and pages of Plaza links. Once in frustration I decided to patiently look through every single link only to find out that the digital version must not discuss that particular plaza - something I doubt was true of the paper version. The only way to look something up is to find say the beginning of the section on Barcelona and then tab through every single page to find what you want. And when you search for Barcelona you will get pages and pages of links to every single time the word Barcelona is included in the book. There is no way to limit searches - such as cathedrals in Seville, or Plazas in Barcelona. Unless you type it exactly the same way and spelling and so on as the book it can't find it. We were so frustrated. Completely worthless. Also Barcelona and the surrounding area speaks Catalan. So when searching you don't know to use Plaza (Spanish word) or Placa (Catalan word). But don't worry, neither will help you find a single thing you want to know about anything. If you need a guide book in Spain, you are going to have to lug the big heavy paper version that you can use the topical guide or mark the area and leaf through that section of the book. We kept thinking that tomorrow the book might be helpful so we kept carrying my kindle. It never once was. Ten day trip to Barcelona and Seville, the only information we ever got on the road was from google. Every single time we tried to look something up in this digital book it made me want to throw my kindle against a wall. Luckily we had done a lot of planning before we got there and used the internet at the hotel each night to check anything we wanted, but this book was completely worthless. Take a paper book, or maybe buy a paper book and then copy out the pages of the cities you are planning to visit and only carry those copies instead of the entire book. I don't know, but DON'T buy the digital copy of this book. WASTE OF MONEY!

Be sure to get the dollar version
When I travel overseas I always count on Fodor’s guide to get around, stay within a budget, and find some hidden gems. This Guide to Spain is no exception. I find the reviews of hotels and attractions to be unbiased and thorough. The only reason I could not give it 5 stars is that I ordered the European version and all the prices are in Euros, not dollars. Once I figured out the Euro to dollar ratio, it was more helpful.

even if this is the only research you do.. It's a good guide
It's a good guide book. Helps you get yourself acclamated the area, before your arrival. Has a simple no waterproof map inside.Offers suggestions for places to stay and eat..Which I never use..But gives you an idea what they call "inexpensive" or "expensive."Gives some good details on many different things. Especially if you've done a bunch of other research... It'll REALLY bring it all together for you..But even if this is the only research you do.. It's a good guide.

Fodor's Spain travel guide is well worth the money
This guide was so helpful in getting around Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona, Granada, and other out of the way locations. Recommendations were always on the money. Restaurants, cafes, bars, tourist attractions, hotels, and even train, bus, and cab transportation were made easier due to this travel bible.

Would recommend the standalone guide for Barcelona
I've planned multiple trips to Spain with this guide. From Seville, to Granada, to Madrid, it's served me well. Would recommend the standalone guide for Barcelona, but for a multi-city trip, this will serve you well.
