ZAP DEAD!
Originally bought the large sticky traps and the rat just ate the food and left footprints in them. I have electronic mouse traps but this one turned out to be a rat so big that he just pushed them around trying to get the food in the back. But the smaller ones work great for field mice ZAP! So I decided to go with what I know and buy a large electric trap. This guy was making a home in my $120,000 Corvette engine and was peeing on the supercharger, dragging the dogs toys into the engine to nest and stockpiling food so obviously he was a must kill first time. This morning (conveniently trash day) I came out to beeping and the LED on the cord (very nice touch) was flashing. ZAP, DEAD! Great product for large rodents. Pretty overkill if you just have field mice.

Outsmarted my most clever mouse! FIVE STARS BABY!
It is wonderful to encouter a product that shows the engineers were THINKING! I have been SO frustrated with comapnies like TOMCAT who waste my time with crappy, poorly designed, STUPID products!I bought this as a last resort to catch one final mouse (#7) in a sudden infestation of my house. The door is BIG and INVITING. The product photo here on Amazon does not give the right impression...there seems to be some kind of falp in the photo at the entrance. There is no flap. Just a flat metal floor divided in the middle so there are two plates. At the end odf the tunnel there is a place for the bait. I put a big chunk of peanut butter to generate the most odor...then I sprinkle a line of sunflower seeds along the metal panels even a few outside the trap....I had an "amusement park" of different traps in the room where the mouse was....different kinds, even the paper towel roll core trap...but the mouse did not fall for any...this mouse was taunting me, even scaring me for days with his noisy boldness...he even ate the bait of the old fashioned victor snap traps without even triggering them! But this genius met his quick and decisive end....about 3am I heard a beeping noise...that is good news...this beeps when the kill is done. Then just take it out to the trash and dump him! Then you are ready for the next one. When its time to clean, they designed the top section to slide right off and the bottom part with the metal panels is free to immerse and clean. Expensive, yes...but this is the most humane kill trap out there...no chance for "bear trap" situations where you have a tortured animal dying a slow death...instant ZAP.....

No Customer Support
No customer support! In all fairness it did kill two rodents in the 10 days I had it set up but it kept beeping even when there wasn't a rodent inside. We would go outside and check the trap and it would be empty so we would turn it off and on and put it back. After day three of this I looked for contact information on the box or on the instructions but there was none. I spent over an hour trying to find contact information on line but nothing. What I did find were people with the same beeping issue. The general idea is great and it can be an effective kill chamber but before I order a different one I am going to make sure whichever one I order has contact information for customer questions. These people didn't even respond to Amazon's request.

IT WORKS!
I have a straw bale garden, and rats were eating my broccoli and started making holes in straw. They HAD to be gone!!! Poison worked, but too slowly. So I ordered this trap and it already killed 5 rats over a month! I am very pleased with the result. It's pricey, but I invested in my piece of mind.I use peanuts for bait, not peanut butter, because ants eat peanut butter faster than rats. No-yuck disposal actually works great, but I send my husband to dump the rats anyway :)

Exceeds every expectation!
I've kept backyard chickens for five years with no problems with mice or rats, but this year is different. I saw three mice, noticed some yucky "signs" in the coop, and knew that could be a sign of a bigger problem, so I started looking into ways to kill mice that would be safe for my chickens. Many chicken owners suggest electronic zappers. I chose this one because of the good reviews and the ability to plug it up or use batteries. I took a few weeks to determine what to get -- big mistake! In that time, the mice problem grew. I am ashamed to admit that I have now caught so many mice in such a short period of time that I don't whether I'm more amazed with the PestZilla or horrified that the mouse problem was so much worse than I thought. I have caught none during the day, but at night my poor husband is getting a workout trekking out to the coop and dumping the trap. I rigged up the handy remote light that comes with the zapper so that we can see from the house if another mouse bit the dust. I positioned the trap pointed toward a wall, only about 2" from the wall. Mice have no trouble getting into that and my chickens are not able to stick their curious heads inside. I have to admit that I did not follow the instructions of cleaning the trap after each kill -- no, I caught 16 mice one after another in 3 days with a single teaspoon of chunky peanut butter before I cleaned and re-baited. There was not a bit of "mess" in the trap even after all those kills. I sprayed it with disinfectant, rinsed and wiped it out, re-baited with peanut butter and we're up to #17 as I type this review. My only critical comment is that after a kill, the machine beeps. I wish there was a way to turn that off because there might be several hours at night when my poor chickens are listening to the beep...it hasn't affected egg production, though. ;-)
