Good buy!
Easy to install. Works great and makes battery change easier.

No more climbing up the side of the house.
I can now change the Batteries In my Accu Rite Iris on the side of the house versus climbing on the roof. the unit end snaps tight into the battery compartment & the rest mounts on a wall of your choosing (there is 30 feet of cable from the unit to the battery compartment).

Best not use batteries at all. Put two voltage regulators from an old wall wart on this instead.
I have had my Acurite 02064 weather station for about four months (bought here at Amazon). I have been running it on Weewx software on a Raspberry Pi which gives much more realistic account of what the Acurite is doing than "myAcurite" would give*. Weewx monitors signal quality from the outdoor sensors and displays it on a graph. Most notable trend this summer was, as the batteries aged the signal would go out usually in the afternoon when components in the station heated up. After a month, I got the remote battery holder. Now I could change batteries often, and I had to. The heating problem persisted but started up after the batteries had been in use less time than without the remote holder. That makes sense because the battery voltage drops along the long wires between the station and the remote holder, so new batteries start at a lower voltage and go lower with age.So I got a little (one amp) twelve volt wall wart and connected two voltage regulators (available at Amazon - search for eBoot 6 pack LM2596 DC to DC buck converter) and tweaked their potentiometers so the output voltage was 3.5 volts, high enough to give "new battery" voltage to the station that wouldn't go lower with time. Perfect! Not a glitch in signal quality so far. It hasn't been tested in the hottest summer temperatures, but it's the best this weather station has ever performed. The remote battery holder is marked with two batteries in "bank 1" and two batteries in "bank 2". Within the banks one side shorts the batteries together (easily seen) and the other side has separate connectors. Connect the voltage regulators to the side where the batteries would NOT be shorted together, one regulator for each bank. That's all there is to it.* It seems to me that "myAcurite" (the Windows software meant by Acurite to be used with this station) just keeps displaying the last received data when its sensors are not communicating (as though that were currently accurate) and falsely reports that it is continuing to receive data.

No Dying from climbing ladder
BEST EVER IDEA EVER 💯💯💯👍👍👍Climbing up the recommended 10 Meter installation height holding tools and batteries to change those limited life b*tches was always a dicey procedure at best.Give the smart SOB who made this widget the Tail, Ears, AND the Horns!! Hell give them the whole enchilada!!More Stars More Stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No more need to Climb or take the weather station down to replace batteries
This product moves the batteries from the weather station to a location easily accessed to replace the batteries. I had to cut the cable shorter for my application. The wires are very small gauge, it was a little challenging to strip the new ends to reconnect to the battery pack. There simply was not enough room in the electrical box to coil the excess wire. and the squirrels would have destroyed any exposed wire.

Should be included in every Acurite 5-in-1 package
I tired of going up a 24 foot extension ladder every time the batteries on the 5-in-1 sensor ran out. This was down to about 3 weeks with my 10 year old sensor. When I replaced it I also got this remote battery pack. Now I can change batteries at ground level without going up the mast. This, and/or an AC adapter, should be standard issue in any Acurite package. If you have the sensor high enough to read accurately, it's only a matter of time before the ladder comes out. This adapter did NOT fit my 10 year old sensor, but as I replaced it this was not a problem. If fits the new sensors fine. No idea what was causing the short battery life on the old sensor - one batter bank was always being drained no matter what batteries I used - but this resolved the problem. There are subtle differences between old and new 5-in-1 sensors. This, as well as the Pro solar upgrade, does NOT fit the older ones. Look carefully at product details to be sure this fits if you are getting one. Acurite support was not up on this - probably never had to deal with such an old sensor.
