Pioneer TS-A6963R 6-Inch X 9-Inch, 270-Watt 3-Way Speakers

I just replaced the rear deck speakers of my 99 Mazda 626 with these speakers, and I have to say that for the price you wont find anything better! Installation was relatively easy (keep in mind this is the first time I have actually replaced car speakers) and Pioneer was even kind enough to include screws and wiring. The speakers themselves are great. The bass is tight and strong, but don't expect the same quality as from a purpose-built subwoofer. The high frequencies are neither tinny nor piercing, and the mid-range sounds smooth and natural. I look forward to putting the 6" x 8" 3-way units from Pioneer into the doors and pairing them with the new head unit for a little extra power.I listen to a whole range if music from regular rock and electronic to brutally mechanical industrial and EBM. No matter what type of music is played it sounds great coming through these speakers! I'd most definitely recommend these to somebody looking for great speakers at a great price.

Speakers work well and are value for money. Sound is good, not exceptional.Easy to install, I was worried about them not working and having the hassle of a return but no problems there.

For the price you pay, these are really good speakers. I installed it at the rear for my 2000 mit eclipse and drove them directly from my Pioneer DEH-P5900IB (4x14 RMS) HU. Now, the reason why I didn't give this a 5-star rating is because, I am comparing them with the stock 1-way infinity speakers. The Pioneer is a 3-way, so you will feel the difference in the high and mid range instantly. The low range freq, however, is NOT MUCH better than the stock Infinity; it is only SLIGHTLY better. The real improvement in low freq output for these Pioneer spkers can only be heard IF you play original CDs that is well mixed by the producers, such as Michael Jackson's Dangerous album or Madonna's Immaculate (I am an 80's/90's person). If you burn your own CDs at 128 kbps transfer rate, and play them thru these spkers, the base improvement is only marginal. Yes, the highs and mids are obviously better since the stock Infinity DOES NOT have a mid and tweeter. And if you play songs thru your IPOD, at a low transfer rate, the improvement in low freq with these Pioneers isn't fantastic.Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that there are NO improvement in the low freq at all for these Pioneer speakers, just that I expected more. But at that price, you may consider my expectations as unrealistic and that I am not making a fair comparison with 8 year olds Infinity spkers. 8)Nevertheless, I will be buying the Pioneer 6.5 component speakers soon for my front speakers... Right now, these 6x9s are overwhelming my front stock speakers...At some point, I will also install an AMP to drive all these Pioneer speakers. I think the sound will be much richer then (and clearer).But regardless, if your budget is tight and you don't want to install an AMP (yet), these are good speakers to buy.

I originally ordered the 270W's(TS-A6963R) but luckily received these by mistake from the company. These were actually on sale and a little cheaper than the lesser watt 270's I paid for. I called them and they immediately credited me the difference! Nicely done Discounts Jungle. I do not know how the 270's sound but I put these in my Protege that still has the factory fronts and a new Pioneer pull-out stereo and they sound AWESOME!!! It could just be that after having to jam out to only the fronts for over a year I don't know what to expect but I have let friends listen and they approve as well. Only caution is to expect 'possible' problems if you decide to mount them UNDER the back dash...the tweeters are a little raised, by design, and may rub on the fake speaker grills. An easy fix is to cut the fake ones out and replace them with the cage that comes with the speakers(looks nice). I did not but, to each his own. Easy install..took 20 minutes including removal of the originals. No amp needed here, they have plenty to offer, especially with the versatile stereos today!

I have a 99 Camry and replaced the stock 6x9's with these. I do have a stock AMP, FYI. I ran them off the stock stereo for a week. They were an improvement off the stock speakers for sure, but sounded "sloppy". I probably would have graded them a 3 at that point. This weekend I installed a new Pioneer head unit (stereo) and the difference is crazy. My new unit had many more sound manipulation options (equalizer, etc.) which really brought out the performance in these speakers. Plenty of base for those wanting great sound without being obnoixous.In short, I think these are great speakers. But if you are just replacing speakers and don't have a stereo with an equalizer, you won't maximize their performance.

I read the reviews and though I would get a decent set of speakers. The bass is not that prominent and Iget a buzz on the left speaker. Good enough for my old truck but lousy if you are expecting something more.

I bought these and the same make only 4 way instead of 3 for the front. I only have an aftermarket radio with 4 channel 20 watt. The sound on these is amazing for how little they cost. Very easy to install and came with connecting wires. The highs and mids are flawless and the bass hits are tight and not at all muddy or distorted. My friend said he could hear me pulling up and could hear the music as if he were standing right there. I listen to heavy metal and industrial by the way, to give an understanding of the sound Im comparing it to.it comes with two speakers, if youre still not sure.

I use a lot of pioneer products. I had these hooked up to a pioneer touch screen deck and a 700 watt pioneer amp. All my speakers were pioneer in my car. It does a good deal like how pioneer does. If you plan to replace it with your factory 6x9's make sure you buy a baffle and modify it to not release so much air. A trunk space is too much air space for these 6x9's to bump. If you want them to sound clean just use a crossover with mids. I use pioneers for mid's, they are clean but don't try to bump them with bass, they are loud but may sound bad.
