A practical and encompassing handbook for coaches and facilitators
I loved Mark's tone and the practical accessibility of the text, interspersed with reflection questions, exercises, diagrams, bulleted lists, case studies, and personal anecdotes. While I've read the book and completed Embodiment Unlimited's certification in embodiment coaching, I picked it up again to write this review, and I am inspired to dive back into it again, now that I've had more practical experience with my own embodiment practices and leading private clients and corporate teams through various embodiment activities.A practical reference that you'll use again and again. Highly recommend!

Info PACKED
This book offers the basics of embodiment (emotional intelligence) and the framework for the role the body takes in self leadership or leadership of a team. For solo practitioners or leaders of a group, this book offers context to differentiate the current state vs. the patterns in myself or my team members and exercises to break free from the patterns that hold us back and develop new skills to be a more influential leader.

Want to learn about embodiment? This is the real deal.
Mark Walsh has been coaching, training, speaking about embodiment for 20+ years. He recently created/hosted The Embodiment Conference online which had 1,000 speakers and half a million participants. This guy knows embodiment through and through, in both theory and practice. This book is beautifully formatted, with call-out boxes for exercises to do, headings for easy browsing, and diagrams and illustrations. Well put-together. Highly recommended.

Learn from a master of practice and exploration.
Mark has written a great book on facilitation and the body in coaching. I’m trained as a somatic coach and in generative and embodied leadership. Mark’s book is a tremendous resource for beginning and advanced coaches that my are bringing the body into the coaching conversation. He’s is very unique in both the depth of his knowledge, expertise and practice along with the breadth. At the same time he’s very pragmatic snd evidence based in his approach. If you can’t train with Mark directly this book will provide a great foundation of knowledge and practiced to develop your skills.I recommend it yo my coachees snd others wanting to learn about the body in coaching, leadership and performance.

Distilled Embodiment Wisdom
I just finished reading this text alongside a course in Embodied Coaching offered by Embodiment Unlimited. The book is a terrific resource for growing in awareness of the body and helping other people do the same ALONGSIDE actual embodied practices. The book is strongly organized and includes an INDEX (thank you Mr. Walsh!) that makes the pragmatic and detailed information accessible/able to be located as needed. It is an excellent accompaniment for actual embodied experience (and there are some prompts in the book for that, though they are not the main focus) and is, by its own repeated admission, no substitute for such experience. Think of the book as a massive tool chest of high-quality tools: in the hands of crafts-persons, it is invaluable! In the hands of the inexperienced, it would not be appreciated or utilized to its fullest potential.

Fabulous read into embodiment in training
I was hooked from the first introduction - 'Why Now'? (page xiv). There was no way I could not keep on reading - and I know I need to go back and read again and interact again - do the exercises, commit to doing the inner work. From a first read though though, this was packed with content, knowledge and practical experience. So much gold for me as a coach and a coach trainer - and for my own personal development.

Filled with so much knowledge!
I was eager to see that Mr. Walsh wrote another book. Since receiving The Body in Coaching and Training I am glad to say it is by far a must have! Very well laid out. Recommend!
