I absolutely love this machine!
When my regular washing machine broke, I couldn't afford to buy a new one at the time so I ended up ordering a Della portable machine and I will never go back to regular machines again. You have to keep in mind that it is not designed for large or heavy loads but the Della does an excellent job of washing all the clothes and linens every week for a family of 3. I have had it for over a year now and the biggest issue is that the spinner is a little frustrating to use because with certain items, you have to fuss around with it to get it to spin without banging against the side and making a horrible noise. We don't spin dry anything larger than a large bath towel and we only put the spinner on for less than a minute to save on wear and tear because I am sure that the spinner will be the first thing to break. Then, everything goes outside to hang-dry, and, even in the winter - which is actually pretty mild here in central California - most items will dry within a day, or sooner if the wind is blowing. The spinner really is pretty flimsy but for the cost of the machine and just a little bit of effort on our part to baby the machine, it has lasted longer than I expected and far exceeded its value. In fact, I was here today on my Amazon account preparing to order another Della to have on hand before my current one bites the dust but I am saddened to see it in my wish list with a note saying that it currently is not available. :-( I really hope they become available again soon.Another slightly annoying thing about the Della (and apparently it's a common thing among portable washers...at least the cheap ones) is that the intake and drain hoses are pretty cheesy and don't fit any of my household faucets. I have my Della sitting beside my bathtub with the drain hose draped over the bathtub. I just have to make sure it is nicely settled into the tub before draining or the hose will fall out and sling water all over the bathroom. Wheeeee! Also, since the intake hose doesn't fit our faucets, we just fill it up with a bucket. We were using a garden hose that we fed through the house from outside but it's just easier to deal with a bucket, and we get a good workout while doing our weekly laundry. :-) Also, between the drain hose slinging water and water slopping out of the bucket as we pour it into the machine, the bathroom floor does get pretty wet but we just roll with it and make Bathroom Cleaning Day the same day as Laundry Day. Eventually, I would like to figure out a way to have the water drain outside into my garden because the gray water is supposed to be really good for plants but for now, the machine is working really well in the bathroom and I am really happy with it.Oh, and if you have cats, they like to sit on top but their weight is too heavy for the lids and the one over the spinner cracked in no time from the cats jumping on it but it is only a cosmetic thing and doesn't affect the function of the machine. I did have a couple of cats jump up when they didn't realize the lid was open and they took a little swim in the water but other than losing a little pride, they were fine once they licked themselves dry, and it only took each one once to learn to check to see if the lid is closed before jumping up. LOLSo, I am very happy with my Della portable washing machine and I really hope they become available again so that I can stick with what I know and not have to try out a different brand. Amazon, please bring back the Dellas! (Hopefully before my current one breaks. :-P)

Exceeded My Expectations
I was a little skeptical of all the glowing reviews, but for a hundred bucks AND Prime return policy I thought I'd take a chance. I've only done one small test load today, but I am very happy with it so far. If I run into any issues over the next year I will update my review.I HATE sitting in laundromats and there are no washer/dryer hookups where I live. So, I thought I'd give a 'portable' washer a try. After reading a ton of reviews I settled on this one. I just received it a few hours ago and my initial impressions are very positive. I washed 4 pairs of synthetic gym shorts for a test. Don't worry, there was plenty of room for a lot more clothes in the washer, though I don't think the spinner will handle much more than that. So with a 'full load' you will definitely need to break that into 2-3 spin cycles. What I did:1. Put in 4 pair of shorts2. Filled a bucket in the tub with warm water and filled the washer with enough water to cover my clothes plus a couple of inches. There is a fill inlet, but where I put placed the washer I don't really have enough hose to reach the sink in the bathroom.3. Free-poured a little liquid detergent (too much, oops)4. Turned on the washer and let it agitate for about 9 minutes5. Drained the water into the tub (I didn't think my shorts were THAT dirty - the drain water was kinda gross looking, dark, murky, and full-o-suds). The little 'hook' provided is too thin to latch onto my tub, so I rested the detergent bottle on the drain hose to keep it in place, making sure it didn't collapse the tube.6. Refilled the washer with the bucket and ran it another 3 minutes7. Drained into tub again (keep the drain tube in the tub as the spinner will drain a lot of water, too)8. Placed the shorts into the spinner, placed the plastic disc on top and pressed down LIGHTLY, closed the lid(s)9. Set the timer for about 4 minutes (it self-balances and quiets down in seconds as it spins up to speed)9. Attached the fill hose to the spinner side and used two 1-liter bottles to inject rinse water into the spinner over the first minute10. Let it complete its cycle, then hung the clothes (don't put them in the closet yet - they're still damp)Obviously, it doesn't completely dry your clothes, but it does spin enough water out of them that it shouldn't take too long to air-dry the rest of the way. I did order a 'portable' heated clothes dryer as well, but that won't get here until next week. As for lint and pet hair ... that's one thing I'll miss about a regular dryer. Until I figure out something different, I guess I will just use a lint brush when I put on clean clothes. Still beats sitting in a laundromat.Update 2019-04-033 Months in and I'm still using this washer. Only thing I do differently from the description above is I use a funnel and a 3 liter bottle of water for the 'spin-cycle'. I also put the washer up on a pair of chairs to keep it elevated above the tub since it seems to have a little trouble draining water from the spinner. *The washer side drains fine even when not elevated, its just the spinner doesn't drain so well unless elevated. Oh, the Panda 'bag-heater-dryer thing' I got works great too (and makes my home smell great), although clothes end up a little stiff if you leave them in too long.Update 2019-12-03Nearly a year in - still using it, still like it.
