Great laptop
This laptop is great. I upgraded to SSDs, put in 64GB RAM for under $2200.I use it for software development for ERP in Java which uses 92% of the RAM installed. It's getting me by nicely.

Weak Graphics processor
I purchased this ThinkPad to replace a 12 year old Acer Aspire 7104 XP, 2gb ram, Intel celron. My new laptops graphic processor crashes and recovers when running a simple photo processing program (Ulead Photo Impact XL) not the full version, came with a scanner I purchased nearly 10 years ago. My old Acer had no trouble running Photo Impact XL, with its integrated graphics processor. My ThinkPad is quite fast running non-graphic apps, surfing, downloads/uploads are very fast. My only complaint are the sorry graphic processors (Intel & nvidia quadro 600m). Adding a better graphic processor would void my warranty. Yet, what good is a pc that won't perform simple photo editing operations w/out crashing?Wish I'd bought a laptop w/ a beefier GPU, I seriously doubt if this pc would even handle a CAD program which is why I bought this Lenovo. All it's good for is basic computing, surfing, email, etc.BUYER BEWARE, read the specs carefully before buying.Old Acer performed all of these functions, granted it was slow, besides the speed it did well. The second hinge was over halfway broken.

Value notebook. Lesson learned.
This seemed like a good deal as it cost less than most other places. However I learned a lesson on this. Even though it has 16GB RAM, an i7 processor and 2GB Quadro GPU this is pretty much a barebones computer. Yes, you can add an SSD, more RAM etc but the weakest link is the Quadro graphics card. Already owning an older 2GB Quadro that works great in my desktop, I thought this one would be better than it is. After using it 3 hours I determined that it would not do what I bought it for. So I carefully packed it back up and contacted the seller in hopes of making my 1st ever online return. Being honest I said it isn't defective but it's weak and won't do what I bought it for. It freezes when trying to work so I can't work,I got a very fast response but bad news that there would be a re-stocking fee of 20-50%. 50%??? I'm not going to throw that much hard earned money away. Had I lied as many would have I could have gotten a full refund but I will not do that.Still needing a mobile computer I bought a better P70 elsewhere and it works great so I now have 2 P70s, costing me much more than planned. So now I have a mint condition, boxed up P70 I've been trying to sell. Almost got ripped off by a scammer on ebay, so it looks like I'll be keeping it.Bottom line: If you need a laptop for basic home use, this should be fine. Internet browsing, watching youtube, using Word, excel, etc. Maybe some photoshop work. Light SD & HD video editing, but get a couple SSDs. The quality and feel of the Lenovo P70s are fantastic. The keyboard is the best I've ever used on a laptop. The battery life is wonderful. And in case you think you can upgrade the GPU, think again. It cannot be upgraded without major work. It's not designed to. The P70s that come with the better GPUs have different heatsinks etc and you can't just take out one card and put in another. So this was a costly lesson learned. I recommend spending a little more and buying one where you can get it configured.

I bought the ThinkPad in Aug. 2016 and Oct. 2016 was the last time I was able to update Windows 7... I call Lenovo customer service and they wanted $99 to fix it. After spending over $1,600 and only owning it for 2 months, I would think that they would at least make an attempt to make the repair.

Mouse Jump Issues - irreparable
I customized my laptop with a touchscreen but anyway, 5 months into the warranty.Mouse kept jumping to a fix point on the screen. This probably occurried with the touchpad and a regular mouse.Lenovo said to reconfigure with windows10 operating system. They sent me a copy of one.I did so and it still occurred.Took it to a lenovo computer service store, after waiting two months for parts, Motherboard and a hingething,The problem still occurrs.I USE TO LOVE LENOVO, NEVER AGAIN. Now I have to figure how to get my money back.Just buy a cheap thing off ebay and don't waste your money!!!!

I purchased this computer specifically for its large screen, since I work with several windows open simultaneously. Well, it has a big screen. And a big keyboard and a CD reader/writer. And it's pretty heavy. But it seems sluggish compared to my small Dell laptop.
