Very useful, great magnifier, love the lanyard so that it can be used while doing knitting or handling things where you need both hands free. The only thing that would make it better is if the slide for the light was capped in a bright red or yellow color, making it easier to find on the side. An easy fix was to paint the edge with bright fingernail polish. When you have trouble seeing finding that slide is a little tricky. Overall I'm impressed with the quality and that its so light and compact. Maybe consider adding another fold-out set on top arms so it would be easier to see over your hand while writing under it. making it easier to sit and write with it as opposed to standing and having to lean over the flat surface.

This was a gift for an elderly man who has a hard time holding his bible to read due to Parkinson’s. Now he can lay his bible down and stand up the magnifier and it works perfect. He loves it and I am so happy for him. Thank you so much we are both thrilled!

At a price point of $7.99 wasn't expecting much and this did not disappoint. My wife needed something to allow her to better read standard size paperbacks and this looked like it would work. Unfortunately it doesn't work at all well for books. Here handheld with a light is way better. Would be OK for magazines which lie flat on the table. Problem is footprint is too small for a book to fit under it and books don't lie flat so you cant sit it on the book and move it around as needed to read a page. The photo in the ad makes it appear to be reasonably sturdy which it isn't. The mechanism to open the legs and keep them open is flimsy and wouldn't hold up well to a lot of use. Put 2 batteries in it and the first time the LEDs were turned on worked fine. Second time turned on no lights third time they flickered a bit. There is a power cord of sorts but it has the USB-A end which would be fine if it was long enough to reach a wall socket it is about a foot in length not usable at all. All of this would earn it about 3 stars because with magazines and a good additional light it does work decently. It received 1 star because the ad says 3.0x power and the box that was received is 2.5X power. That is false and misleading advertising and that is simply not acceptable at all.I will look into a flat glass lens on an adjustable wand type stand that should work better for our needs. More expensive but that will teach me to not try and go to cheap.

As advertised. The attached cord is not really a very good option, but if used with the primary option, the fold-down legs, as a support it works fine.

On Amazon it’s advertised as 3x on the box it’s 2.5x

Made it easier to read and work on things

I purchased this product to assist me in reading. Having been previously spoiled by my Kindle, I found I needed assistance in reading normal books. This is cumbersome to use and not very suited to purpose. Would not recommend.

I am republishing a book of my husband, Desmond Ford. The type is very tiny and contains things like Hebrew, Greek, French and German—which need reformatting, plus a lot of underlining. Since the ms. was originally done on a typewriter, the book had to be OCR scanned. So, I used this magnified to highlight the text with a yellow Texta pen, so that I could compared the book with my manuscript. The magnifier was a great help and is lighted underneath. Thanks very much.
