This might be acceptable for a better known work or a CD issued at budget price
This recording is welcome in that it lets us hear music from a neglected composer. The performance is well recorded and would to my mind be worthy of 5 stars. However, I am only awarding 3 stars as CPO has seen fit to issue the set with no texts or translations. This might be acceptable for a better known work or a CD issued at budget price, but surely a work as little known as this should have the text included. Whether this is a matter of copyright, I don't know, but CPO does not seem to have a uniform approach to the booklets accompanying their recordings. Some have texts, some do not and this is a pity as they are one of the few companies who look to lesser known work for their recordings.
