Disappointed
The last time I ordered this Arrabbiata it came in a very nice study round plastic jar with a screw on top. NOW it is packaged in a flimsy plastic container with a lid that won’t stay on. Plus it’s an odd shape that is unstable. Constantly tipping and making a mess in my fridge. I like the sauce but I’ll look for something that will be easier to use & store.

Tasty low calorie sauce
I was surprised to see this delicious sauce rated so low, but then I read the reviews and saw people had been having problems with receiving the wrong item or with open and spoiled jars. I have ordered this twice now and luckily have had neither of those problems. Hopefully this means those problems are no longer happening. As to the sauce itself, it looks and tastes very fresh. It's a little spicy, but not too much, and so long as you mix it before serving is not watery as one reviewer described it. The colour is good and it looks very appetising when mixed with something such as a wholewheat rigatoni. It is also very low calorie, only 40 calories per serving (or about 200 for the entire jar), and has only fresh, wholesome ingredients, no preservatives, etc. I like it so much I have set it up for auto delivery, which brings the price (which is a little high) down 15%.

Delicious Arrabbiata Sauce, Packaging Issues Corrected
*****This arrabbiata sauce is delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and very mild--just slightly spicy. It is my favorite tomato sauce. It is hard to find something so fresh and tasty without all of the preservatives and unhealthy additives, as well as gluten-free!The all-vegetarian ingredients are: tomatoes (tomatoes, tomato puree, salt), extra virgin olive oil, fresh parsley, fresh garlic, fresh habanero pepper, salt, fresh onions, marjoram. The packaging issues seem to have been addressed. The packaging is in a sturdy box with lots of foam and each jar is in a separate compartment. Also, I have reused the jars for pencil holders and such as they are so sturdy.Highly recommended.*****

This is pretty terrible.
Please note that I am not a vegetarian and that being gluten free is not a selling point to me. I understand that many of you are interested in this item for those reasons, so this review may not be helpful to you. That said, this sauce tastes terrible. There is very little flavor despite being packed with my different ingredients. It tastes like a poorly salted tomato puree. If you like very, very plain flavors then this might be for you. If you don't have to worry about a product being gluten free then just about any brand you pull off a shelf at your local grocer will taste better than this. As for specific recommendations, try either Rao's or Mario Batali's arrabbiata sauces. Both are delicious.

One of the better store sauces
Flavor is still muted compared to home made but this is one of the better store sauces i have tried. Arrabbiata is wupposed to be hot/spicy, this was very mild compaired to what i have had but its not bad. I see complaints on shipping, mine arrived fine. I don't know if packaging has changed recietly but my box had individual compartments and was well padded with foam. Would have taken some pretty rough handling to damage the jars. I am looking forware to trying other Scarpetta sauses.

3-months past date and spoiled
I have been ordering and then subscribed to the Puttanesca sauce for several months and have enjoyed it, even as expensive as it is for pasta sauce. I just tried ordering the Arrabbiata, and received 3-months past date jars, with one open and spoiled jar. Now I will not trust the Puttanesca either, since there is obviously a problem with quality control.
