Finally a Vornado that doesn't make noise!
We bought our first silver swan vornado 21 years ago. It was great and lasted 21 years until it finally started rattling. We then purchased one of the silver swans (the alchemy gunmetal version). We loved the color of that one but it had a high pitch hum. We returned it for another one of the same type and it was even worse. Humming and rattling like it was about to fall apart. We decided to return it and go with the Silver Swan that was the same as our original fan. Thank goodness we did because we finally got one that did not hum or make a ton of noise. We love the look of these fans and the sturdiness. We highly recommend the Silver Swan (silver) version of this fan!

Worth the cost?
This is the 3rd Vornado product I've purchased. I've had the Vornado V-fan and loved them. They are pricey fans for sure. With this in mind, the Vornado Silver Swan seems to be a product that pays homage to the Emerson Silver Swan fans from the 50's.The good: The fan looks great. The number 1 draw of the fan is the styling. I also appreciate better grade materials over the plastic offerings today. The materials feel great and the fan has good weight. It sits solidly on my desk. Noise levels are low and the air output is more than enough for a home office setting. The bad: The assembly quality for this model and from Vornado was surprisingly bad. The V-fan air circulators are an excellent fan from Vornado and I suppose they set the bar pretty high. The Silver Swan arrived with a mild shake. This is the second Silver Swan I've purchased as the "alchemy" colored unit I purchased is getting returned due to pretty off balance blade and shaking. While this chromed unit is much better as far as balance is concerned, it is still not perfectly balanced. I expect more from a fan at this price point. That said, I will be keeping this chrome one since it is not vibrating to the point that it will bother me.I also noticed that the blade guard was not properly assembled. This was true for both Silver Swan units that I received. I ended up disassembling the blade guard to adjust the positioning and then reassembled so that all components fit together correctly. Someone may have been in a hurry when putting this one together.All-in-all I am pleased with the fan for what it is. I'll end up keeping it and expect that it will probably give me years of good service as long as it is maintained.

Best Fan Ever
This is the best fan I have ever owned! Beautiful, sturdy, superior cooling. In fact I purchased this fan and a Hunter brand fan at nearly the same time back in January 2021. And guess what? The quality of my Vornado today is the same as when I first got it! However my Hunter fan suddenly stopped working on 4/5/2023 barely two years after getting it. If you are deciding between a Hunter fan and a Vornado, go with the Vornado!!

Waste of Money
I got this fan in October 2020. It is now November 2021. On arrival, it was noisy; had to spray some silicone into the 'neck' to quiet it down, no issues since but it is NOT what I'd call quiet - quiet enough perhaps. It moves enough air in a 10x10 room so I don't feel like I totally wasted my money but it's really too small for that size space. It works 'enough' but barely so. Cleaning it though, that is my 2nd biggest gripe with this expensive yet barely functional fan. Really cleaning it is just not really happening. You can only take the front grill off and putting it back on is a major pita. The blades and rear grill do not come off. The blades are textured and grime sticks to them - getting that off is not simple. Major gripe - when cleaning it, I found that one screw of two that holds each blade in place has fallen out. I found the screw on my shelf, but It can't be re-installed. hopefully the one remaining screw holding that blade in place hangs in there or there is going to be a major fail. This is just not acceptable on a fan at this price point. I did my best to get all the grime off the rear grill and blades, using chop sticks and wads of towel and Fantastic cleanser. The instruction suggest vacuuming it out but lets get real, airborne dust combines with humidity and turns into a film that you simply cannot vacuum up. Maybe if you live in Arizona that works, but not in NYC. I might try to get another season out of it - not happy with that blade missing a screw though. I am concerned that it could create a fire hazard by causing the motor to jam if the blade actually fell out. For the $100 this cost, I could have scored 5 Pelonis fans that work better and you can actually clean them easily. I am totally disappointed in this Vornado product. I usually know better than to make a purchase based on looks but I thought Vornado was a quality product. My $20 Pelonis is 10x better. I recommend not buying this, save your $$, get a cheap fan that you can clean properly, works well, and doesn't fall apart.

Solid and Efficient!
The media could not be loaded. This fan is far more solid than I anticipated. I was expecting a light flimsy fan, but it built really well. Super quiet and cooling. Happy!

Loud
I’m not sure if I received a defective product, but the black plastic ring that binds the metal cage together is loud when the fan is turned on. What I mean is it constantly reverberates. Poor craftsmanship and not what I’d expect for a $100+ product.

Kinda overpriced, vibrates
Fan seems unbalanced as it vibrates my desk on lowest setting and visibly shakes itself. Cheap feeling plastic nob and rim. Also, the switch goes from 1, 2, 3 to Off, meaning if you're on lowest setting you have to turn it through the highest settings to switch off, doesn't make sense. Looks great and relatively quiet otherwise. Likely will return as it's not worth $250 lol.

A nice fan but…
Compared to the Rowenta 2660 5 speed desk fan, this fan is heavier, slightly more powerful, less tilting and oscillating range, nosier, and more expensive. I happen to like noisy oscillating fans, but to tell you the truth the Rowenta provides more for the price, it is quieter and has a remote. I may do a comparison video ad a have both. If you like the retro look the Vornado is a good choice.
