I'm not very fond of the silicon tips as they do not hold food that well

I did my usual checking through the reviews before I purchased this set of Tongs. My daughter and son-in-law just bought me an Air Fryer. I only had a very small cheap pair of Tongs so I really needed a much better set. I went by the title "Silicone Kitchen Tongs Cooking Set." When I took them out of the Amazon delivery box, I almost thought that I would have to return them, because I was looking at the largest Tongs of the three which kind of covered the other two and the largest looked huge to me. I thought those were barbecue Tongs rather than a set of kitchen Tongs and I almost was going to return them. I took the other two (the purple and the deep pink/red Tongs) into the kitchen and realized that those two were perfect for my Air Fryer and another Instapot that I have. My son-in-law likes to camp and he makes chef type meals in the outdoors, so I gave him the large(I prefer hotels because vacation should not include cooking☺️!The two I am using are really nice. They are made very sturdy with large silicone "claws," to pick up the food for turning, especially turning large chicken breasts over. I would have given them a five star rating instead of four because the "feet" on the side that are supposed to keep the claws off the counter, both for sanitary reasons and to keep the counter or stovetop cleaner and they do not work at all. The "claws" are so big and heavy, that they go right down so that the claws rest right on the countertop, so I need to put a plate right under them to keep them from creating a mess on the counter. Otherwise, the big plus for me is the size of the seven and nine inch Tongs to help make turning easier or to mix together different items well! I also have arthritis in my hands which made the twelve inch Tongs difficult for me to use, yet work very well for others. As I explained though, this set is very well made and very sturdy.

So this is a love hate thing. I like silicone coated tongs and have wanted some for a long time. I LOVE some things about them and HATE some things about them.The rings on the end. This is a nice feature to allow for hanging close to the stove. Love that part.The rings are attached to my least favorite part of these... The locking mechanism... is a little bit on the rough side. It just isn't smooth to pull it out all the time and when I'm in a hurry, that's annoying. I much prefer the ones that slide by closing and tilting, but even if I had one that latched by pulling I would prefer something I didn't feel like I might have to fight with. I feel like this might give me problems one day, and I would rather not worry about my kitchen gadgets.The silicone grip is nice, gives a cushy comfortable grip and a sense of empowerment that makes you feel like you could grab an entire cow and lift it! Please don't do that without reading this entire review. More to come on that topic.Silicone tong tips. Great grip of the food, full coverage, no complaints, thick coating but not so thick you can't grip things.2 sizes means twice the fun. Smaller ones are easier to handle for my nephew, longer ones allow me some maneuverability in the oven.Strength. This is the hit or miss. Remember I said don't try to pick up a whole cow without reading the full review? Well maybe I should have said don't try to pick up a whole chicken. I felt empowered by these tongs! They REALLY feel strong! HOWEVER! I went ot pick up a rotisserie chicken, stuck the tongs all the way through for more stable durability. My METAL tongs can take that, so I figured these, no problem. Not the case... The longer ones bent back at the base of the silicone tip. So disappointed. I know it's not meant for extreme weight, and that's why they get 3 stars, because a lot of that is my fault for trying to go a step above and beyond what a product is capable of. It's not like they are industrial strength.HOWEVER. Saving grace? The little ones pick up an entire whole roaster with NO problems, no bent tips, and come out looking like a real champ. I love that little guy! I only use the long ones for real light jobs now, as I bent it back and it's still fairly sturdy, but not sturdy enough for a pork loin or a chicken, just sturdy enough for some sauteing or flipping of a single serving or meat or something.The little silicone holder thing? Please, only use this to hold a pot handle, or lift a lid. Don't try to get something from an oven from this.

EDIT: Deducting one star since the 9" tong lost part of its silicone tip, so we had to throw the whole thing away. Lasted about 2 years, so still pretty good all things considered.These silicone tongs are a significant upgrade to my previous tongs where the plastic head frequently disconnected. These feel extremely solid and high quality, and for a reasonable price (~$17 at the time of writing for two tongs and silicone mitt)! These are great for my stainless steel and cast iron skillets as they won't scratch and are heat resistant. The husband also likes the longer set for on the grill, perfect for rotating items. Super easy to clean and store. They easily lock onto my utensil jar, but they would also fit nicely in a drawer. The lock doesn't feel flimsy, so they aren't going to pop open and make the drawer (or cooking) difficult. I've been through several pairs of tongs, just buying whatever $5 pair I can find because it was cheap. I feel like this was a great investment and that these will last for several years.The oven mitt is a nice added bonus, it's great for doing a quick check on items in the oven or grabbing a cast iron handle. It's easy to clean and has "teeth" to help you keep a secure grip.

I am not able to leave a 5 star review at present as I have barely had the chance to use the tongs but the seller has politely asked for a review. The tongs themselves seem really solid and good quality compared to what I had before (which kept losing the silicone tips). The tips on these seem firmly fixed and the mechanism seems solid as well.I was really pleased with the package that arrived. Sometimes items really don't meet expectations despite positive reviews but these seem really good value for the quality and the addition of the silicone mitt is a really nice touch. Obviously I can't yet comment on how hard wearing they are but my guess is that they will last well. Happy with these!

These are higher quality than similar tongs you can buy in most department stores. The construction is better and the metal reinforcement inside the rubber does give you more confidence when handling heavier items. Good, but not perfect. If I had to nitpick I would say the shorter of the two is a bit too short really and could do with a few extra cm length. The longer pair has a bit too much play in the hinge which can make the tips of the tongs not line up perfectly making it more difficult to grab smaller pieces. Still a good versatile set though.The bonus "pot holder" is really just a small silicone oven mitt and not all that useful if you already have standard oven gloves.

I'd been meaning to replace the tongs we'd had for a few years after the gripping part fell into the cooking for the third time. I was expecting to pay a lot more for a decent set and then came across these. My first thought was "do I really need two sets, one has sufficed for many years?"After a spell in the kitchen cooking with three different pans I wondered how I'd managed with only one set for so long! The little silicone plate grabber has also been used and I find it especially useful when picking up something with hot fat or oil in it, if the oil splshes onto the mitt you don't end up with scalded fingers.They are robust, have a decent spread between the jaws and although only time will tell how long they'll last, I'd imagine it will be a lot longer than our last set.Great value all round and I'd recommend them to any regular kitchen dweller

Good Value and so far a good set of products. I use the small tongs for everyday as the long ones are just a bit too long for comfortable use. However I'm sure they will come into their own come BBQ season. The tongs were purchased to protect my new non stick roasting trays and so far they are doing an excellent job. time will tell with regard longevity and dishwasher suitability.Haven't really used the free silicone pot holder as I need both hands to remove things from oven due to weak wrists and hands.

Tongs are are excellent, I have a Halogen oven, when placing jacket potatoes on the lower rack, you need a pair of tongs, to turn the potatoes over, to cook the underside, these tongs are built like a Roles Royce, they grip the potato firm, the tongs open wide enough, to grip the largest jacket potato with ease, from halogen oven to plate. The tongs are well priced a small pair & large pair & free gift, I pride myself in finding good quality items at a good price, if the tongs had been inferior in any way, I would have posted them back to the suppler. There is no reason but to give this excellent product 5 big stars. Thank you for a great product Kitzini, and you cannot often say that these days.
