Elk Home 66335-3 Restoration 12'' Wide 3-Light Semi Flush Mount in Oiled Bronze

I bought this to replace a brass ceiling light in the foyer of a house we just bought. It matches so well with the other antique ceiling fixtures that were in the house. It makes the area bright and absolutely is beautiful. My husband especially likes that it drops from the ceiling just enough to let him see the bronze fixture. It was the perfect light to give an updated look without taking away the charm of the other old ceiling lights.

This light does not feature any plastic bases or "mounts" as one reviewer said (so don't worry about that), but the frosted glass part is sprayed on, as are most light fixtures with frosted glass these days. But you could tell it was sprayed on just by looking at the pictures here on Amazon...you didn't have to buy the light and then return it and complain about it. But I will admit that the sprayed-on frosting was inexpertly applied, so I docked my review by one star for that. But it was good enough that I didn't feel like returning it.So I put it up (it was easy to install and very standardized) and I think it looks quite nice. Note that the base I have on the ceiling is an 8-inch piece of circular wood that I spray painted "oil-rubbed bronze." The spray paint didn't match the fixture perfectly, but that's my problem, not the light manufacturer's. The color of the fixture is actually very nice. I needed the extra base because it simplified the external wiring I had to install to connect electricity to the fixture.I bought this from a "different seller" here on Amazon because it was much cheaper than the usual price. It had apparently been a fixture that had been returned for whatever reason, but it came well packaged in the original manufacturer's box with styrofoam protection, and that was packed inside ANOTHER shipping box. There was zero damage to any parts of the fixture and no missing parts. I paid way under half of what this normally costs, even on sale. You can't always count on buying this way, but I figured it was worth the risk (I could always return it) and I saved a lot of money.It's a really nice light. Frosting could be better, sure, but no plastic structural parts for heaven's sake. I think it adds a touch of class to my 2nd bedroom.

Put 3 in each bedroom . They look fantastic! I had them professionally installed, so can’t speak to how easy they went up.

They're nice. A little smaller than you'd imagine. But they hold three bulbs, so you can make it super nova, or moody. Easy to install.

This light was really sloppily made. The "frosted glass" turns out to be just a spray on finish, and (unlike on the sellers photos) whomever sprayed our glass shade did a horrible and inconsistent job. They completely missed areas of the glass that should have been frosted, and grossly oversprayed onto areas that--from the seller's photos-- were obviously intended to be clear glass. The overall effect makes the whole light look very cheap. It looks as if a homeowner bought a clear light shade, then let their 9 year old try to add a spray on frosting effect to with a spraycan from the hardware store. We will be returning it.

I love this light. I think it is a bit overpriced as the actual mount is made of lightweight plastic. My issue is the glass is always either chipped or cracked. I'm very picky with the chips, but I'm on, I believe, my 4th return. The others were chipped, but the latest one is cracked. I think the last 3 are from a different lot and kind of wish I'd had kept the first one. I don't understand why because it is securely packaged, and the glass is sturdy enough. Not super heavy, but an adequate weight. It looks so pretty too. Like another reviewer said, it has a vintage look. I see some other vintage Elk lights for sale, but at this point I may buy a different light. It is getting monotonous returning these.

The media could not be loaded.  I wanted a simple fixture to give more of a Victorian feel in this room and this was perfect. I added a dimmer with the appropriate bulbs and am very happy with this light.My only issue was the base was just a bit large for the medallion but my electrician made it all work.

We had a little trouble with the installation as the screws they sent turned out to be a little too short. The box that you attach the fixture to was previously installed too high up in the ceiling. Also, the light is beautiful and looks great in the office. It also takes a special light bulb that is shorter and fatter than the standard light bulb. We also had trouble finding the 75 watt bulbs, but we found an alternate clear bulb that works. It seems to be over priced, but we love the vintage look.
