Love it! Original game idea and great artwork
There is a bit of a learning curve with this game, but it's not as difficult to pick up as other reviews suggest, especially if you're already a bit of a boardgamer. I think the instructions are clear and helpful on the whole, at least at explaining the game mechanics - as others have said, a YouTube video is handy for clarifying set-up and how a turn runs, but you'll only need to watch it once and then the instruction booklets are fine. You'll only really be referring to the glossary of symbols on the cards to understand their abilities and how they influence the game.I think this game is great - I haven't come across the concept before (building the best-equipped team of thieves to win the haul of a famous landmark in London, Rome, or Paris) and the art style is very cool. Although complex in its scoring it's well thought-out, and it means that you never quite know who's won till the end. I think that's a great feature for a two-player game to have, as if the winner is obvious during the game it's a bit disheartening!Another review compared this to Seven Wonders Duel - I think that's fair for complexity but not for play; Seven Wonders is based largely on luck when you have to randomly choose a face-down card to play. Caper lets you see all your cards (and even your opponent's as you swap hands every turn, so have to think carefully about which cards you play/give them) so is much more strategic, once you've got the hang of it.Don't be put off by the apparent complexity - it'll only take one or two run-throughs to get into it and it has amazing re-play value with the different cities and cards.

Fantastically fun game
First and foremost the game is so much fun to play, but the reason I only gave it four stars is that it is missing the Caper Catalogue, which is an essential item to understanding how it all works. Thankfully I found a PDF of it online, but that will need printing off.Pros:- Can be played with just 2 players- Fairly short game, we played twice in one evening as we were learning it- The design is beautiful- The box is really compact, which is good for travellingCons:- As others have said, pieces were missing- It takes a while and a couple of play throughs to grasp how it works- You need a lot of table space for it, so not great for planing on a train or plane- The points counting mechanism can be quite confusing, especially for people who are mathematically challenged- It's not a game for a party

Excellent game, fiddly iconography
This game is excellent, plays very well for two players (3-4 player counts are gimmicks). It’s got very unique mechanics and it is extremely challenging strategically. Beautiful art, funny characters and backstory.Only gripe is that one spends a lot of time checking over the instructions while playing as the iconography is unintuitive and there is a myriad of details in each card rules that are hard to memorise.Otherwise highly recommended and hopefully soon it will see expansions (Barcelona already existed in the “this is mine” original version of the game)

Great fun
This has quickly become our favourite game at home. We have only played the 2-player version.

Confused... you will be once you've tried this game.
If you want a game that is more difficult to play than playing chess doing a rubix cube while standing on your head... Then look no further!I watched youtube videos on how to play this and was so bamboozled. Even if you play the cards scoring after was even harder. I bought this because the wife loves games and I needed a two player game, but I near on ruined christmas with this one... Just about pulled things back around by teaching the missus cribbage. phew!

Not a great game
Amazon delivery fast and efficientThe game is reasonably simple made complicated. Ultimately a few rounds of this game and then the conclusion adds up to a very unsatisfying experience

Great game but watch a "how to play" video!
This is a fantastic game for 2-4 players. The art style is really cool and the game is a lot of fun.The instructions included are not clear and don't adequately explain how to play, make sure to watch one of the guide videos on YouTube to get a better understanding. Heaps of fun once you pick up the basics. Would recommend!
