Not safe for my cat
After my 6 year old cat developed itchiness and black spots in his ear, I thought I would save him a stressful trip to the vet by purchasing this solution. I dutifully applied it as directed. And, 2 days later, he was vomiting and trembling. So, we ended up at the vet anyways. I've now learned that the pyrethins contained in this product (although in a very low concentration) can be extremely toxic to some cats, mine included. 3 days after his last application, my feline friend is still suffering from some neurological issues and I've learned a tough lesson. So, use extreme caution before treating your feline friend with this. And just go to the vet.

Taking a long time
Update:We finally gave up and took one cat to the vet. There were no mites but she still had gunk in her ears. There had been mites originally. It seems we went from killing mites to causing an infection with no break in between. The vet has a one application mite treatment - would have cost the same and been less stress on cats.Three pets required treatment. I bought Adams first and then Gold Medal Ear Mite and Recovery. The Adams instructions say 5 drops in each ear a day for 7-10 days. The Gold Medal has 20% stronger concentrations of the same active ingredients and says twice a day until the mites are gone. After 5 days of using Adams, I started using Gold Medal twice a day. At 5 days the mites were gone from the dog (once a day treatment only). At 9 days the cats both still had some signs of mites - they were obviously better. I had surgery and we skipped a few days. We are back to treatment Multiple times a day with the Gold Medal. Rose had a bad infestation in one ear and otherwise the infestations were mild. Iris didn't mind the Adams, but objected to the Gold Medal. She has adjusted. Rose asks for the treatment, She scratches her ear and looks at me expectantly. Iris doesn't fight me about it. Mites should die from pure suffocation after a while. Yes, they are mites.

This stuff is no joke
Honestly, I can't say I used this product so I can't comment on its effectiveness. The only reason I'm writing this review is because I didn't really read all of the fine print. My bad. However, I would urge others to read the fine print of this product before deciding and buying. The reason I'm writing this review and adding this caution, and why I didn't even use this product is because of the dire warnings about its usage. The product advertisement implies that it's naturally derived or plant based. I don't believe so. By all appearances, it looks to be loaded with dangerous chemicals that can seriously harm your pet. And, that's why I'm not willing to take the chance. My pet is a young miniature dog that could easily be harmed by product. Plus, he has a litter mate that is his play and bed partner, so that dog is also at a very high risk of ingesting this product during play or sleep. And, I'm not willing to take that chance.

My dog loves it?
This stuff works great! I have 3 dogs, and one had gotten ear mites. Within one week if using this stuff (as directed) they were cleared up and my dog is back to his happy self...... No more scratching and head shaking! After the second day he would actually come to me and just sit there as I applied it, without any fighting/pulling away. Pretty sure he realized it was helping him too.

Remedy + Recovery Gold Medal Ear Mite and Tick Control for Pets, 4-Ounce
I purchased and use this product on my cat. He goes out side and picks up fleas and mites and I treat him for the problem when he comes back inside regularly. A few drops in each ear and his problems seem to go away for a while, until it is necessary to treat again. The formula and ingredients seem to work well for my cat and I'll continue to use it in the future. I like it.

This, according to the bottle, AIDS in eliminating ear mites. Tricky wording.
I should have listened to my vet. This product is, according to the label, intended to AID in the elimination of ear mites. That is to say, works best in conjunction with a vet prescribed antiparasitic, which, according to every vet tech, my vet, and every pet owner I know, the antiparasitics work perfectly on their own. Would have been nice if this was described prominently in the product description rather than buried in the fine print on the bottle. Instead, the seller has described this as a "remedy", which is not the wording used on the product itself. Also, the seller placed the words "instant kill" on the description, yet the bottle says to apply twice daily until ticks are eliminated. It says absolutely nowhere on the bottle that this is an "instant kill" or that this product, when used by itself, will eliminate mites.

This product seems to work pretty well at breaking up and softening the wax which dogs are prone to build up during the course of them having an ear infection. That is what I used it for and it seems to be fairly well-suited to this use, at least as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't seem to bother or irritate my dog at all when I go to use it on him either. If you need to clean your dog's ears out like I did, this product may also be beneficial to you as well.

relieved pet Mom
It takes awhile but it does help to ease the discomfort. I have a Jack Russell and its like chasing a greased pig to get anything near his ears. Now after a few bouts of who is going to win, he now looks forward to his ear medicine. That is a miracle in itself. He knows he gets relief from the itching and bothersome constant scratching. I also get relief because I don't want to see my dogs in distress of any kind. I recommend this to anyone who wants relief for your pets.
