Starling Book 1: Ashley Wood Hardcover – May 5, 2015

First off, I'd label this as "erotica with robots." There's plenty of nudity and erotic situations. Second off, this is a great book of paintings with some ink drawings added. This could be a regular book of paintings to enjoy but it goes one step further. There are a handful of paintings that are presented on one page with a (full size?) detail of on the opposite page. I'm an artist and a painter and love to see the process, this puts it right there for everyone to see. This added bonus of the detail of the painting makes this a must-have book.

If you're completely unfamiliar with Ashley Wood's art, this book may deserve four stars. Otherwise you'll do yourself a favor and save your money. Just about everything printed in this book is old, going back years. You know it, you've seen it, you own it, and probably in a larger format. My question is, based on that, what the hell is this for?I love the Lasstranaut as much, or more than, anybody, but we've seen the paintings of her before . . . There's a drawing from the WOIP Lab set, very cool, but we've seen it . . . How many times can you repackage and reprint the same stuff . . . And just . . . keep . . . selling it? Well, they got my money so the answer, I guess, is until we stop paying for it.But isn't this the entire 3A gimmick? Minor variations of the same figure that are resold again and again at a staggering premium? I dunno.For what it's worth, the price here is far from premium, it's beautifully bound--hence it's seductive power--and really, if you're buying this to have a small travel edition of his works, I guess you won't be disappointed. I'm just wondering if there are equal measures of artist and con-artist in Mr. Wood's DNA.Oh well . . . He can still draw and paint like a m#therf#ck*r . . . And anybody that denies that is a damn fool, so here we are again, and I have a feeling will be, again and again, until we learn better.

Great book! Ashley's crazy world is back, wonderful art and biding, only for fans!

I used to frequent adult cam sites. There's always that one dude who's into high heels. "Do you have heels on?" "Can you you show them?" That guy must be Ashley Wood.I'm not knocking his art but this book has to many high heels.Another issue is some pages are wasted by containing a magnified portion of his art from the previous page.Low price, good paper and binding unfortunately marred by bad content. That's what editors are for.
