Disney The Lion King Movie Theater Storybook & Movie Projector Hardcover – June 11, 2019

I bought this book after my son discovered it at his school's book fair. Not wanting to pay the full $19.99, I ordered it through Amazon and saved over $5! The book runs 30 pages long and comes with a projector and five discs which have four pictures each. Alongside the writing in the story are notations that tell you to change each disc and picture. The story reads much like the movie, although you can tell it is not written by Disney authors, and the pictures are true Disney illustrations. 30 pages sounds like a lot but it reads quite nicely and moves along at a great pace for the projector aspect. We propped the projector on a Mega Blocks bucket about 3 feet from the wall and at first were disappointed with the image quality. That was until I discovered projector instructions on the inside cover of the book and realized there is a focusing ring... problem solved! The image on the wall displays clear and colorful. The projector requires three AG-13 batteries (the small round ones) but comes with them already installed and a plastic pull tab to assure that it has not been used yet... a plus!! My son LOVES this book and I am so happy that I bought it. Except for my need to find a good deal or a discount, I think it is worth the original $20. I would purchase this item as a gift and I plan on buying other 'Movie Theater' books in the future.Here is an excerpt of how the story reads:"Simba was a lively cub, and his father, King Mufasa, hoped Simba would be a good leader when it was his turn to rule. It was the job of Zazu the hornbill to follow Simba everywhere and make sure he behaved".Also to note, my son is 4 1/2 and can set this projector up, insert discs, and rotate them with ease. Although this is a supervision only book in our home because we like our toys to stay in good condition). The projector has been dropped mildly a few times and this has not affected the performance at all.

This is a fabulous addition to a book collection, especially for Lion King lovers. I will say my daughter came to me and cried that it was blury and didn't work, but we quickly learned that if you turn the end where the picture comes out, it focuses the picture! Boom, problem solved. I would 100% buy another book like this one.

This is a fun way to read

My 4 year old son really enjoys this movie projector. After showing him how it works, he was able to function it completely on his own. The pictures are cute, and stay true to the classic movie. We love reading, and this book facilitates a warm, cozy night of bonding with love and lots of laughter! Grab this book…you won't regret it!

My 4 year old LOVES this. She calls it our book/mini movie night. The picture quality isn't bad like i had expected. Very pleased with this.

My kids were so excited. Then one the second read, it broke. The projector is cheap, no way to fix. Still have the book but missed the whole point of this gift.

Really pleased with this book, I bought it for the little girl I used to babysit for and she was thrilled with it and wanted to read it and project the light nearly every time I looked after her. The slides work well and make reading the story more exciting for the little ones and helps to get them involved and more excited in the book. Really can’t fault it, I hope to find more of these to buy in future.

Bought this for my 3 year old and both he and my 5 year old love the projector and book. Fantastic book and idea!! Highly recommended!!
