Operation Guidelines 1.Hold the wire and loosen the screw to allow the wire to be pulled out of the housing; 2.Pull the wire out and push it into the pipeline; 3.If you can't get the wire into the pipeline or get to a blockage in the pipe, then tighten the screw and press the handle and wire toward the pipeline while turning the hand crank clockwise to break up the blockage and until the wire continues into the pipeline. Keep in mind it’s not anchored inside the drum.
I had actually hired a plumber to go underneath my house and do this job, he came back after cutting the pipes and told me he snaked and there was no clog. I had my septic tank pumped, and my kitchen sink still wouldn’t drain. So- I bought this little boss of a snake and DID IT MYSELF! Keep in mind, I had no prior experience doing this & still never had an issue! I was tired of wasting money on plumbers that took my money and ran with it. It came with very nice gloves & was fairly easy to use. My arms got tired from cranking because I kept working and it two different times and both times pulled out huge clog balls !! It’s not bolted inside the drum to hold it in, feed it slowly & keep the nut tight, your hand on the snake and you won’t have any problems. I think it’s designed that way so it won’t cause it to have problems when you are pushing it back into the drum. If it were anchored, I think it wouldn’t work as well. It’s disgusting work but- I loved how awesome this snake worked!! I’ve never been so excited over a kitchen sink in my life lol. I Highly recommend !!

Stiut cable, poor Housing Design
My washer and kitchen sinks are configured to the same drain, so any amount of grease that happens to go down the drain will inevitably create a solid clog along with hair, lint etc., from the washer, which eventually causes both sinks in my kitchen to back up while the washer is going, requiring plunging. My old Master Plumber snake died, so I ordered this to replace it. I didn't realize the top and sides of this one were flat until it arrived. The top is also solid so you can't see how much snake you have left in the housing. As 1 reviewer noted, if you run all of the cable out you cannot just feed it back into the housing...it hits the flat top and stops, so you would have to remove the 6 screws out of the top to get it started winding up again.I did get it down the clean-out about 15' b-4 hitting a clog that felt like a "dead-end." It pulled a small amount of dog hair out. I ran it down a 2nd time and hit the clog again and cranked until my arm ached and pulled it back out. Remembering I had a recipe for non-caustic drain cleaner (recipe below), I mixed up a batch and dumped it down the clean-out and let it sit for 1/2 hour. I then hooked up a drainer bladder (I call the water weinie) to a garden hose, shoved it down the clean-out and hooked the hose up to my kitchen sink and blasted hot water thru the line for 15mins. When I shut it off, I had a look in the main sewer clean-out and could see large chunks of what looked like dog hair and questionale scum. I decided to try a load of wash.Much to my disappointment, the sinks backed up once again, each filling about 1/2 way. Got my plunger and set to work....sinks drained. By the time the rinse cycle finished and I was standing by with the plunger and the water finally went thru without further plunging !The housing on this unit is a hard, more brittle plastic, like if you dropped it, it might shatter and my old Master Plumber is made of a more pliable plastic and the top edge is curved so that you can easily feed the cable back in should it come all the way out but more importantly, the top is open and you can see how much snake cable is left with the likelyhood that you won't run it all the way out of the housing. The handle didn't fit my womanly hand either, the finger slots are small, too close together and the edges are sharp where it came out of the mold. Suffice it to say, not very comfortable. the solution for me was to take the snake out of this unit, wipe it down dry and then WD-40 on a rag and wipe it down again and shove it into my old Master Plumber housing. Viola, a sturdy cable in a much better housing !Non-Caustic Drain Cleaner:1 cup Baking Soda4TBSP Salt4TBSP Cream of TartarMix up, pour down drain and add 1 cup of VinegarWait at least 1/2 hour depending how clogged (repeat if needed)Blast with HOT water ;o)

If you have a dog, you might need this 25 feet drain snake one day
We had a clogged drainage pipe under the garage. Whenever we used the washer machine, there was water flowing in the garage, mixed with some dirt. We were not sure which spot was clogged. We tried this 25 feet product. It ended up pulling out a ball of wet white hair that was probably from my dog. It was accumulated in the pipes day by day when we do laundry to wash off it.If you have a dog, you might need this 25 feet drain snake one day.

Did the trick!
Had a clogged shower drain. Liquid plumber didn't work. Boiling water didn't work. A plunger didn't work. But I was able to feed this thing a good 20 feet down the pipes and removed a giant hair clog and restored full draining capacity.

Don’t bother
First time , it didn’t go down, it just tangled up in the pipe. Second time, the wire came ALL the way out & u can’t put it back in. (without taking 20 screws out) not really happy. Just rent a BIG one from Home Depot or Lowe’s for $56 for the day. Save urself the TIME & money. ( & embarrassments)

It works! In the drain and for arm exercise!
I received the Drain Snake this morning, and opened it this afternoon. Everything was there that was supposed to be, and the tool looked perfect. I decided to get right down to business. As I have limited upper arm strength (exercise blah lol) it took a bit of finagling to direct the snake into the right area (it doesn't help that the pipe has a 28 inch drop before it curves) I might not have done it perfectly, but I was able to pull some gunk up. One of the things: A label off of a travel size conditoner that must've been there since before I moved in 9 YEARS AGO. The drain is already doing better, but I'm going to give it another go as my arms got tired. Thank you!!!
