Helpful info for experienced and those not so experienced...
For those that are mechanically inclined and experienced with tools, I'll keep it short - it's a surprisingly decent-quality hole saw assuming you're using it for recessed lighting. I wouldn't use it for daily trade use or for metal, but for basic work with sheetrock, plaster or wood, this is fine for limited use. For those that are less than experienced, read on... I'm out of the field these days, but am originally from the electrical trades. I have dozens of professional-grade hole saws ranging in size from from 3/4" up to 4" (Starrette, Blu-Mole, Milwaukee) and a vast range of heavy-duty power tools and hand tools. I say this to provide a baseline of my experience. I noticed many reviews are by very novice Do-It-Yourselfers who seemed like it was their first time using a hole saw....probably not a review to feel confident about. The most popular use for this size is either for installing 6" recessed lights or for making corn hole boards - that's not my gig but I guess 6" is the standard size for corn-hole boards. I didn't do much retrofit work before and never had a need for this size, but have recently been on a tear installing 6" recessed LED fixtures for friends & relatives (lucky me). I installed many by cutting them out by hand but decided to make life easier and pick up a hole saw. Firstly, this size is relatively heavy - a good pound and a half or so. Know that going into this. If you are using this for a cornhole board and drilling through wood, I'd probably use a good variable-speed electric drill. Those that have handled tools before won't need what I see some people calling "an arm thing" for the drill (inexperienced red flag #1). If you grasp it firmly and exhibit some control, you'll be fine - just start off slow. For sheetrock ceilings, you absolutely can use a good-quality cordless drill. If all you have is a Sharper Image, Brookstone or other useless toy cordless drill (inexperienced red flag #2) - you probably shouldn't even be attempting what you planned on purchasing this for - just call someone to help you. Any drill you use will need a 1/2" chuck (pretty standard these days except for the aforementioned brands). If you already own a large arbor from another hole-saw manufacture, it will work (my Starrette arbor worked). If not, purchase the hole saw with the arbor. Overall, for my purpose this is working fine. If you're inexperienced, have no idea how to cut through different materials, have never used a hole-saw before, think twice. If you'll agree with other reviews complaining that "it came with no instructions" or if you think you will have something in common with those that said "it came flying off my drill" and "I almost hurt my wrist using it" then please....take my advice that I often use when reviewing tools in which I echo Dirty Harry's sentiment: "A man's got to know his limitations".... If tightened in the chuck properly and installed correctly with the pins of the arbor engaging the saw, it will not "fly off the drill". As for it "hurting your wrist", well, that depends if you're a man or a wet noodle. NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, failing to read the product details prior to purchasing or someone's inexperience or lack of skill. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

Did the job well
Needed to drill 4 holes for ceiling lights… the ceiling was chipboard over a 2 x 6 stud at each location so I had to drill through the chip board which was super easy and then work my way through a flat laid 2 x 6 at each hole. I thought by the fourth hole the saw would be dull but it went through each one without a challenge
