I bought one of these tires for my unicycle. That's right, a unicycle. I do a lot of touring and tricks on my uni, making a bit of money on the side for myself or various charities. I needed a tire that was reliable, puncture resistant, could hand smooth paths, pothole infested roads, and a bit of off-roading. For these various surfaces I was looking for a tire which could alleviate the following: rolling resistance, absorption, and reliability.The rolling resistance is minimal. It is very easy to maintain a constant quick speed even with a fixed gear. It helps that when combining this tire on a 26" rim the actual circumference is around 28". I have a 29" frame and knew that I would have room to spare, but I suggest you double check the clearance on your frame. Paired with a small hand pump, I can increase or decrease the air pressure on the spot for whatever kind of riding is required. Smooth newly paved roads, pump in more air. A bit of off-roading, let a bit of air out for extra grip. Rarely is any adjustment needed; I tend to keep the tube under the tire firm. The grip off road is firm, yet not clingy. I can maneuver the wheel almost as easily as on smooth pavement regardless if I ride over sand, dirt, gravel, or grass.What really amazed me about this tire was the absorption. To absorb any impact all I have is this tire/tube and my legs. That said, I can barely feel bumps and potholes. Descending curbs, stairs, and other small obstacles is much easier. I think that even my bounce has increase by a few inches, though it's hard for me to measure and irrelevant to most other cyclist. As I previously said, I tend to keep the tube pressure high making the tire firm. Despite this, I have not noticed a drop in comfort.I do not make it a point to roll over obstructions, obstacles, or damaging debris, but sometimes it is unavoidable. Scumbags like to throw glass bottles onto the street, apart from the various shards of metal and anything else which tend to ruin your ride. Most of the time you can avoid it, sometimes you can't see it until it's too late. Time will tell how well the tire can withstand these environmental factors. The tire wall seems thick and resilient, plus other reviews have stated their continued use for several years. Obviously the frequency of use is a major factor, but if I can get a solid year out of this tire without loosing a tube to glass or metal shards, I'll be content.Needless to say this tire exceeded my expectations to this point. It has been a month and I have a long ride ahead of me, but from where I'm sitting it'll be an easy cruise. For the curious I mostly ride in urban areas (Brooklynite), but get out of town every few weeks for a nature excursion.

These are excellent. They have a soft flex under the weight of the bike, which kind of works like a suspension/cushion. The material is very durable. They last longer and are much better quality than the factory tires that came with my bike. I ride many miles and I'm on my second set of these. I intend to buy more of these when the time comes.

I put these on my Raleigh M-60 MTB, after seeing them here on Amazon. My brother is an avid cyclist, and he recommended them. He runs them on his Surly Ogre (see below). Although the tires are good to 55PSI, he says "they actually roll better at a lower [pressure,] around 45PSI." I was able to mount them on the stock VXC2.2 rims with my bare hands. (By the way, the tires arrived about five days early. I was expecting them on Wednesday, and they arrived the previous Friday. You can't go wrong with under-promise/over-deliver.) They're a little taller than an MTB lug/mud tire, so you may want to check vertical clearances (as well as horizontal) before ordering. But they should fit on any mountain bike with 26" wheels. I had to re-adjust the rear brakes, and I'm not sure why, because it's the same rim.They look great on the M-60, and they ride just as well. There's some extra rolling resistance, compared to a road bike running 25mm tires at 100PSI, but it's only noticeable if you're using an app to track your rides. Then you can see your top speed was slightly slower, and it took an extra minute to finish the ride. In other words, the added resistance is only important if you're competing. But if you have to veer into the grass, or take a dirt/gravel road, you'll appreciate the extra versatility over a road bike tire. I have a gravel driveway, and I don't feel a need to walk the MTB over it like I do the road bike. On the driveway, the tires feel planted, no juking left/right like the road bike.The only drawback I've noticed so far is that they do make some road noise, enough to notice above the wind noise, and it's very similar to the road noise a distant car makes. I found myself looking over my shoulder on several occasions, when nothing was coming up behind me. Of course, compared to MTB lug/mud tires, they're whisper-quiet on pavement.Bottom line: if you have a mountain bike with 26" rims, and you mostly ride on pavement, dirt roads, or hard-packed (and dry) trails, these tires will work really well for you. My brother says the fit is a little tight on his Ogre (which boasts “Fatties Fit Fine"), and "they rub a bit when I make a sharp turn at speed." And yet, they're perfect for my M-60, which predates the fattie trend. I'll swap the lug tires back on if I ever ride the farm fence line, but the Big Apples work for everything else.

I replaced a Big Apple that I wore out. Love these tires. Only glitch was the fact that this tire would migrate on the rim causing the tube stem to lean and stress. I tried cleaning the tire, rim and tube. Still drifted. Upped the inflation 20% over recommended max, still moved. After 4 or 5 deflation/adjust/inflate cycles, the drafting just stopped. Absolutely no problems since then at any pressure. The tire is showing very little wear after a couple of hundred miles. These tires are nearly smooth but I have never had a problem on gravel covered, wet or muddy surfaces. I am a "Clydsdale" at over 300lbs., these Big Apple tires handle the load and, because of their size, really help smooth the tire. When I wear these out, I will buy them again. 'Nuf said.

Got it right away and fit perfectly. They stick to the road great and handle speeds perfectly.

The price was the lowest I have found and it arrived faster than other items ordered at the same time.

Purtroppo ho dovuto renderli in quanto incompatibili con i parafanghi della bici su cui dovevo montarli. Li avevo già provati su una bici a noleggio e mi erano sembrati ideali per aumentare il comfort (mostravano anche un'ottima scorrevolezza). Anche la tenuta su strade bagnate non era male.
