Not very secure compared to original clip
The magnetic clip works by fitting that rubber ring on one end onto the "concave" edge of the Misfit Shine series. That is quite secure. The part I am somewhat worried about was the way the magnet adheres to the back of the device, thus holding it in place. As this is a magnet, it won't work through a lot of clothing. One t-shirt is probably all it can do. And I don't know how well it holds up to vigorous shaking or jumping and such. I am keeping this as a backup and use the original clip in the meanwhile.

Sent This Back for Refund
I had a clasp like this for my old Shine, but threw it away a year or so after losing the shine in the ocean. I got a new Shine 2. Tried it but it fell out almost immediately every time I tried to put it on. Sent this back for a refund. Even if it worked, it was not worth the price charged. My advice is to not rely upon anything with a rubber O ring to support your expensive techno gadget. O rings have their place--in engines, watches, and inside other equipment to make them water, oil, weather tight.

Exactly like the original.
This is exactly like the "original" one that comes with the Misfit Shine. Works great, I have absolutely no complaints about it at all!

Good idea, magnet and rubber too weak.
Magnet worked like it should, but one simple tug on my shirt sent it flying off. If it was secured in a pocket and the magnet maybe it could be okay.Once the band is stretched out for the Shine it’s too loose to use again...it stretches out easily and you lose your Shine because it is not attached.

Excellent! I have ordered several as these wear out. They start out snug but stetch out over time. I don't fault the piece because it is the nature of the product. Magnet is also strong like the original.This is the best price around.

Very flimsy
