Been though 3 of these in as many months, they work about a month then you get Er 3 Always a malfunction, always!

I've had one of these for years, and it keeps on going. Just ordered two more: One for the camper, and one for the house. I carry the one I have with me in my bag to check my temp when I'm out or traveling to monitor my Sjogren's. Plus, it takes a regular AAA battery, not a tiny round one.

I'm a pediatric home health nurse, and I use the thermometer available at the client's home to take temperatures. I'm used to using axillary thermometers, so when I saw this one at a new case, I had to read the directions. Push the button once, wait until you hear two beeps, then press it to the child's temple. Another beep about 10 seconds later, and you have the temperature.It's fast and accurate, I use it on the baby I care for, and myself as well! I like it so much I'm getting one for my own son. That's the frustration I've had with regular over-the-counter axillary thermometers- they are not fast (even 60 seconds is a long time to hold a thermometer under a sick baby's arm), and they are not very accurate (if an axillary thermometer is slightly cool you can take a temperature over and over and keep getting a higher number).Although most children don't mind having a thermometer under the arm, babies do. This is great, and a great price for the accuracy. And of course, I don't have to worry about germs anymore with this thermometer, because it won't be going in anyone's mouth.

Great thermometer! My daughter was running a fever last night and I was able to monitor her temp while she slept. This thing is non-invasive, which I love.
