Does what it is meant to
I was disappointed to find that my Dell monitor didn't have a VESA mounting thingy at the back, but I was glad when I discovered this. It does what it's meant to, monitor sits at a fairly normal height and it's easy to fit.I can't remember the specific model name of my monitor, but you just push a tab, undo a screw and the old base slides off. You then slide the new mount in where the base used to be and that's it.I find that you can bend it to sit at the required angle. It doesn't sag and I've had it for about 3 months. It comes with a circle shaped guide thing that you put on there to keep it upright(?) but I don't understand why you need it. The monitor will obviously 'sag' because that's how gravity works, so I don't know why a support would be required at the top of the monitor. But yeah it's pretty good :)

It works
I bought this for my Dell S2817Q, and it fit just fine. It certainly feels durable. Does what it's supposed to.All 8 VESA mount holes line up perfectly with my monitor arm. It comes with 4 screws and you match the holes whatever size is appropriate to your mount, but you'll notice in my photos that I have all 8 screws (that came with my monitor arm), which is overkill, but I had no other use for the screws, so I screwed them all in anyway. So there. It's a little too flexible though. I mean it is a tight, secure fit into the monitor (the adapter seems a perfect match), but the base of the adapter where it bends up to the mount isn't very stiff. I have a couple pictures where I compare the adapter at rest versus a slight push down from my hand to show you how much it can sway. I would expect something as stiff or stiffer than the OEM monitor base that this is supposed to replace. It's probably good enough, and the monitor itself isn't very heavy anyway, so I think it's okay, but it makes me a little nervous. The stabilizer isn't useful. Maybe if I tilt the monitor back so that it leans onto the stabilizer then I see the point, but if it's vertical or tilted forward a bit, the stabilizer does nothing, obviously. Maybe if there were a giant suction cup to keep it in place and help to prevent any sway due to flexibility in the adapter, then it would make sense.

Be Brave While Installing!
This works pretty well. The stabilizer (which this does come with, even though it's not pictured; update your listing, HumanCentric! :P) definitely helps it feel more secure. It definitely works best if you're going to position the monitor in one place and leave it there. As I intend to swing it from normal monitor position, over toward my couch to use as a TV via Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc, I'll just have to be careful. My only complaint is that it took a ton of force to install fully. So much that I thought I was at risk of breaking the monitor's case if I tried to force it in any further, but until I just gritted my teeth and went for it, it was way too floppy. I'm not sure there's anything to be done about that, though, so I suppose my real complaint is against Dell for making monitors without VESA mounting options. But a Black Friday door buster is worth the extra hassle, so if you do need to mount a Dell SE2717HR, this will definitely work, as it did for me.

Surprised but generally pleased.
When I ordered the product, I didn't realize that I had to also order the desk mount for the product to attach to. I had just purchased the Dell SE2416HX monitor and saw that it has this weird connection. I wanted to put it on a "pole" desk mount but none of them had this weird connection. So I searched for a mount for my monitor and when I saw the picture and description I assumed it bolted to the wall. Upon receiving the product, the holes were threaded and the product's instructions made it clear that I also needed the desk mount. This product is merely a stamped metal and shouldn't be priced as high as it is. A reasonable price would be around $18, not twice that, but didn't have much of a choice. I've ordered the desk mount and waiting on that before actually using the adapter. Hopefully everything will fit together when all of the products are received. Actually, the "pole" desk mount is cheaper than this piece of metal so go figure.

Mounting basic Dell Monitors to 3rd part support systems.
I bought two of these to work with a dual monitor support by Huano. And they were for the Dell SE2216* monitors. They work great. All the hardware I needed to install these came in the package. I recommend installing the anti-vibration bolt. I forgot an now wish I had...I will probably take things apart and install them. What else can I say. Some Dell monitors do not come with the Vesa attach points i.e. 4 holes on the back of the monitor that allow the monitors to be mounted to walls and monitor support systems. These adaptor plates work great. A little spendy, but needed for the basic monitors I have.
