American Weigh Scale MINIPRO50 Compact Precision Balance, 50 x 0.001G (MINIPRO50)

Disappointed. I like the way it works above 50mg, but this unit (at least mine) won't measure below c. 40mg but only seldom. I am back to using my 8 year old unit which I hoped this would replace.

READ ME FIRSTBUMPS and Jarring affect its viability. This product's integrity depends ENTIRELY on how it is handled in shipping. It comes in a small, easy to toss package. How do you think it will be handled by the carrier? I can speak from my first one that worked fantastically; - until it hit the floor. Last one came by being tossed onto my porch,... - and does not work.

I bought this scale together with the calibrating kit ( American Weigh Calibration Weight Kit, Class M2 ). I test the scale with the standard weights before each weighting "session". It is consistently very close to the expected measurement (I only calibrated it twice since I bought it a year ago; I use it on average 2-3 times per month).It does start to drift if I leave the weight on more than a few seconds, but I learned to just take the reading it shows when it stabilizes. Also, it is better to add one large quantity rather than several small quantities - which is a small problem when you try to reach a specific milligram weight by adding a few grains of <substance> at a time. However the drift is slow and predictable and with experience it becomes manageable.I think it's remarkable to have milligram precision in this price range, so it gets 5 stars from me despite the small flaws.

I was greatly anticipating the arrive of this scale to help me get more precise charge weights for reloading. Instead, Error 0 was all the scale would display. Shipping it right back to Amazon first thing tomorrow. This is the second American Weigh Scales product I've tried in the last week and both have disappointed me.

I just got in to reloading, and bought a lyman reloading kit from amazon. The first thing I figured out is the scale was not very accurate, would add a few grains at a time trying to get right on what I needed. The scale wouldn't show any difference till I took the pan off and reset it, very time consuming and still only accurate to .2 grains. I bought this and a trickler and you can see the change with every little trickle of powder and has .02 accuracy all for about the same or less than other "reloading scales" and way cheaper and maybe more efficient than a chargemaster or hornady which seem to have some poor reviews. I also like the leveling feature adjusts all four corners with an eyeball level. A must have for any precision reloading measurements in my opinion.

the scale has no transportation lock. if it works or not depends on the carriers hands :-). in such 0.001g scales are very sensitive parts they break very easy. therefore such a scale needs a transport lock. or a table in shipment "handle with extreme care, like glass etc."

looked lake it was opened before. Did not look factory fresh. Would not boot up only reported error code. No functions worked. Just err 0 on the screen. Nothing works. 5 days later and I returned the DOA and received 2nd scale in 4 days (FANTASTIC). The scale works GREAT. The service was outstanding and I'm happy to say the product is very good.

This scale is supposed to be accurate to 1 milligram. Now of course that means "give-or-take a few mgs" at this price range, but this scale can't even do that. In fact, it never settles on a single reading. As soon as you turn on the scale (after it warms up - about 30 seconds) the digital reading will start jumping around randomly by more than 10 or 20 mgs in either direction. Keep in mind, this is BEFORE putting any weight on it, and in a room with 50% humidity and all closed windows, with no breeze.Don't waste your money.

It works good, but I didn't know that it was that small

Scales arrived have a broken backlight. Yes they do drift in most cases after few hours of holding weight above tare one. If you use tare make sure you do not remove pan or other container between measurements because it looses its zero. Accuracy is 2 milligrams. Built quality is average cheap.Update: Received wrong model replacement miniPRO-100. Backlight works but scales do not. Screen shows ERR0.

Not working from new the backlight was not working. Inconsistant display of weight using the calibration weight. Displayed different reading each time I placed it on the scale. My intended purpose was reloading. The scale was of by 2 grains or more consistently. Which is dangerous while working with max powder charges. I will be returning it ASAP.

both the original and replacement shipments would only display (err 0)
