Does the job, even on braided nylon
These seem to be pretty well made, and they do a good job of gripping even the weatherproof slippery cording we had to use on a project. They are a little pricey in the quantities that you can get delivered in a reasonable time frame, but if you are willing to wait a month or so, the bulk prices seem to be pretty good, even though they are all coming from the same place. I don't understand why I could buy 10 packs of 10 and get them in two days, but a bag of 50 takes a week. Other than that though, they are a good product and seem to be pretty sturdy. I'll give them some weathering time to see how they hold up.

Hard to find locally
Barrel locks don't last forever and it's nice to have some spares.

Does not slip. Very tight fit.
I use this product for ties wrapping various fishing poles and to close a large bag..

Tough, durable and holds like a vise
Excellent product - will hold parachute or shock cord tight yet releases fast when button depressed. Best cord locks yet. Plenty of uses from ties for hoses and yard tools to bug-out gear & the treks on the lake.

Quality Cord Locks for a Good Price
These are high quality cord locks for a good price. The brand I received is Fastex. The hole is about 15/64" diameter, 0.234", 6 mm. The inner piece has a slight bump in the middle that increases the holding force and reduces the cross sectional area of the hole somewhat. I found an older Fastex cord lock of the same size I had installed on some sweat pants that does not have that bump on the inner piece, and it has much less holding force than this new design. The force required to fully open the lock is about 9 pounds. The best tool I have found for pulling cotton cord through the opening is a crochet hook (Susan Bates size G6, 4mm).

These lock tight and hold
These are the barrel locks that hold tight and keep your gear where it's supposed to be. I have replaced my whimpy barrel locks for these and I am very pleased with the results. If I need more barrel locks I will be buying these. They work with my boot laces, sleeping bag cord, loose gear bags, etc. I have not used them with 550 paracord but I'm sure these these would hold that kind of cordage very well. It would be a bit difficult to thread the paracord through the openings so be sure to burn the ends before attempting.

Spend the Extra Money for Quality
Using these barrel locks on drawstrings for shorts and pants. Also using on backpack/outdoor gear. Solid grip and hold (pants don't fall down!). Heavier duty springs are excellent. Don't waste your money on cheaper stuff.

Great for securing paracord tie-offs.
Used to better complete the cloth "shoe bags" I purchased. They didn't have an adequate way to hold the draw string closure (paracord) securely shut. These did the trick.

Paracord projects
I have a use for them but found them a bit smaller than what i was expecting. Cost wise at 60p each i found this to be extremally over priced and will not be buying this item again.

Nice and heavy duty
These are surprisingly heavy duty, the spring is nice and stiff which makes them hold great. I like to keep some of these in my camping bag and a couple around the house.

Orders 6 but only 5 arrived. The 6th was only the barrel with no spring or insert. They only had to do one thing and put in six complete cord locks and they failed.
