5 stars for my worst Amazon purchase ever. Not suitable for any particular use or purpose.
Extremely difficult to assemble-very flimsy support rod- 2 of the shelves cracked and now won’t stay on the rod. There is absolutely no customer support, the support page is blank, the phone does not get answered. I delayed assembly because it was so confusing and as a result I waited too long so it was not returnable. Don’t waste your time or money. Also consider the pole is steel which is going to rust. They supply tape for the joints to prevent water intrusion. Good luck with that. I could go on about it’s deficiencies but if you bought one you know all that. If you didn’t buy one - don’t.

SUPRISE! It can be modified!
I was a bit disappointed at first, however upon examining the product I was able to modify it to fit my needs perfectly without compromising it's integrity. I needed a shower caddy to fit a space of 50inches which is not very much. I didn't measure before I bought this because I thought I new what 5ft looks like. Apparently men lying about what 8inches looks like for most of my adult life has skewed my perception. Oops. Upon reading the instructions I realized there were 3 spacers, I omitted 2 and instead of using the medium piece I used only the small, and Bam 50inches. Now I don't think it would reasonably get much smaller, but I'm sure happy with the results. It's actually very sturdy, which I was concerned about seeing as the shelves are plastic, but it's up to the task. I am one happy woman.

Satisfactory product.
Almost all of the problems I'm seeing people list in the one-star and two-star reviews are problems that could be easily solved by simply reading the instructions. I am baffled that so many people seem to be incapable of doing so. It does seem to be a perplexing collection of parts if you don't read what you're supposed to do and follow directions, but it's quite easy to assemble, sufficiently sturdy, and does exactly what you'd expect from this sort of product if you put it together correctly. It readily holds everything I had in and around my shower with room to spare. The version I received does not require any sort of tools to assemble and took around 15 minutes from the time I opened the box to the time I was moving my bath products onto the shelves. Around half of that time was spent simply reading the directions thoroughly and confirming that no parts were missing.

you get what you pay for
so i just assembled it, and installed it. it looks like it will do the job just fine. but we'll give it a week and i'll update this review. right away, i can say the shelfs feel like cheap plastic, and the instructions were a tad unusual. just keep in mind the instructions are telling you how to build the TALLEST pole for the shower. there is a chart to tell you what parts to actually use. my suggestion is set aside any parts that aren't on this list, and build from there. (for example, mine only needed the medium and large rods, and 2 spacers. so i put the 3rd spacer and the small rod aside because they weren't called for.)edit: it's been at least a week since i installed it. holding up just fine. i even adjusted the shelfs to a better height, was super easy and the rubber bits held up just fine. if you want a couple extra small shelfs in the bathroom i highly recommend.

It works for what I need.
Well it’s up and it works. The pole itself is sturdy. I bought it because I needed something small and inexpensive for our camper shower. ( the camper never moves from its spot in the RV park-I wouldn’t try to put it in an RV that moves.) It wasn’t difficult to put together once I measured the shower and knew which pole I didn’t need. What was tricky was that either the directions are wrong or the stopper bags are mislabeled. There are two stoppers- one for the top and one for the bottom and they are two different sizes because they go on different sized poles. The directions had me trying to put the small stopper on the large pole but I figured it out and switched them around and they went on easily. The directions also say to put the tapered end of the clear plastic part that wraps around the pole and keeps the shelf on facing up, but when I tried that the shelves just slid down the pole. I got the shelves to stay up by facing the tapered end down. There is very little weight on the shelves. One has a bar of soap, one has a foot pumice and body wash, and one has a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner. If I try to put anything else on there they won’t stay up without some sort of creativity on my part. We will see what happens when I put a new bottle of conditioner on there- mine is currently almost empty.

Glad to find
My previous one was almost 20 years old, and the shelves were cracking. This is the same exact model. It didn't come with assembly directions though, but I thankfully still had the old one to use as a guide. I still had lots of parts leftover, I'm sure I did something wrong, but it is sturdy, fits well, and works great.

Design change takes this from five stars to one
We've been buying this brand and size for years because it has generous shelves and installs in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately, they appear to have changed the design since our last order. The individual pole sections are now different lengths and you have to use plastic spacers in the spring section to further adjust the height.Using all of the pole sections (as we have in past) made the unit too tall, and after half an hour of trial and error, we had to reassemble the old unit, lay it next to the new one, and use it as a height guide (which is ridiculous). In the end, we tried different combinations of pole sections had to use all three plastic spacers to get close to the right height. This is odd because we have a standard tub/shower unit and this has never been an issue before - the issue is with the new pole lengths.Unfortunately, using multiple spacers makes the unit extremely wobbly and unstable. Disassembling the old one damaged it and by the time we got the new one installed, we were so fed up we just left it. No we worry about if it will come crashing down so we're being very careful while we look for another unit with large shelves. We don't have any kids in the house so it's not an issue, but I would never trust this unit with kids.

Great!
Fits great in the standup shower, takes up no room, but has 4 shelves so it holds everything we need. Super easy to assemble. Instructions were easy to read. It's great!

My family loves the tooth brush holders on it.
It was easy to assemble and it is pretty sturdy and it has two areas for drainage so the water doesn’t build up and stay in the shelves. I had one before and when it got too old I just purchased another a couple of weeks ago. It’s a great deal for your money.
