Great on particle board
I had never heard of wood veneer edge banding. So thank you internet.Love this stuff. I wish I had more wood edges to band in my life, but I'm thrilled with how this handy invention has completed one DIY project.I had tried in vain to sand and seal exposed particle board edges. First of all, sanding particle board to a baby smooth finish is a job for a belt sander, which I don't own. I did my best by hand, then tried applying primer and latex paint matched to the main color of the board's striped, laminate veneer. It wasn't bad, but the irregularities of the particle board were visible through the paint.Enter pre-glued, white oak edge banding! Here were the steps I followed:1) Snip the banding so there's about 1/2" extra on both sides of my board. With heat, the banding shrinks a bit.2) Turn on clothing iron to high heat without steam.3) Run the iron along the oak strip a couple inches at a time until the full length is bonded to the edge. (I ran it back and forth several times -- probably unnecessary -- but it left no burn marks on the oak strip)4) Trim the ends with scissors and the excess overhang with a utility knife5) Sand the edging with medium coarse sandpaper6) Stain the edging with a close matching stain and rag7) Sand the edging again with 0000 steel wool.I really could not be happier with the results.*What's nice about the white oak is that it's probably the closest you'll find to a neutral base color for staining. I recommend testing whatever stain you intend to use on a small piece of the edging before you commit to it. If you prefer to paint the edging rather than stain, you can skip steps 5-7 above.

Worked perfectly for putting a clean looking edge on my oak plywood
I made some kitchen shelves using oak plywood and this did a perfect job of putting a nice looking edge on the shelves. Rather than using an iron to apply the oak tape, I found that using a heat gun on low did a better and more thorough job of melting the adhesive glue and then I could use a plastic putty knife to smooth the oak tape evenly across the length and into the corners. The oak tape stained nicely to match the oak shelves and I'm happy with the end results.

Oak edging
It probably have worked great but my oak plywood didn’t like it couldn’t get the finished look I wanted. I just put sealer on the edges and stained it.

Not bad
The thickness was less than others I’ve used and there was less adhesive, but not bad overalls
