Genius Picasso

Very well presented, engaging and inspiring.
I enjoyed every aspect.I found the portrayal of his dedication very powerful. His exploitation of women shows us that having great talent does not make somebody a better, compassionate human being. His ruthless selfishness was honestly depicted. Overall, the series is a great learning experience. I also enjoyed the depictions of his contemporaries: Guillaume Apollinaire,Matisse, Braque etc. His artistic ambience was vividly recreated.

Critic
I bought this for my dad and he was blown away and I wanted to cry at how happy it made him as an avid and acknowledged painter himself.

Great sort about the people who shared their left with Pablo Picasso
It is a great series about his complex life but does not show the art making process. The art is shown secondary character in the background. The series feature his complex home life with his various partners who he never abandons but neglects to make art. Yet the art is only briefly shown. What I found endearing is that several of his partners were artist in their own right.

Interesting perspective ! Loved the actors ❤️
Loved the cds! They complemented my knowledge and put into question certain ideas I had about Picasso’s life.

disc shows up as copies
discs show up as copies like they were made on a home computer. sometimes player says disc not found. does not have previews or other similiar to retail and menu shows up as disc chapters until you find the one that is the actual disc menu (ie. hitting top menu does not work and go to the disc menu). does not ever save where you stopped to resume.

Motivating Painting Scenes?
As an artist I bought this hoping for many, or any, motivating painting scenes. There were some, but always with the camera focused on the actor and not the painting hand. I understand that this was done because it is easier, but it was very disappointing to me. Many paintings, (copies, I assume,) were shown, but not the act of creation from the viewpoint of the artists. However, the entire production was visual eye candy and motivating in itself. The speed of this series is medium, and historically accurate with very little creative license taken by the writers. If you like period pieces, this should satisfy. Excellent acting, beautiful locations and set designs, and plenty of supreme studio recreations. If you are looking for motivating painting scenes, try James Ivory's "Surviving Picasso" with Sir Anthony Hopkins. It's been a while, but I recall some fascinating, wet on wet, brush in hand scenes that sent me directly to my easel.

No subtitles or captions. Disapointing.
No other actor could have played Picasso like Antonio Banderas. Very well done.

El idioma, no se puede cambiar y no trae subtítulos
No me gustó porque viene en inglés u no hay manera de cambiarlo en la video-casetera , es probable que lo devuelva.

A sitcom
This Video of Picasso is just about his seduction of young women. Badly acted, bad dialogue. Nothing to do with his paintings, his genius. Was it dubbed? Sounded like it. Can’t believe that National Geographic produced it.
