I'm so grateful to have found that this ceiling fan 3 speed switch was available via Amazon. I am an over 70 yr old lady who took the housing off the ceiling fan to replace the on/off and speed adjusting chain. The serial number was visible so this was an exact replacement. IT WORKS PERFECTLY. Regarding the length of the chain that was attached this switch...it's short but fine. I attached a pull chain extension that I purchased from Home Depot. It has a cute decorative thingamabob at the end of it

got the item and put it on. it works best! The instruction about how to remove the wires from the old one is a big help. Gave it 4 starts due to the short bead chain.

Easy to install. Just make sure you make note of the placement of the wires in the original switch, prior to installing the new one. With some fan switches, you may have to tug a bit to get it to engage. But with this one, it's smooth as silk.
