Radiation Alert XTREMEBOOT Protective Boot For Use With SEI Inspector

I got an inspector alert to find out how much fallout there is from Japan. A very fine, accurate detector which has made me rather nervous when it rains or snows. With shaking hands I would take a sample and test it. Well, you don't want to drop a $500 piece of test gear, do you? I didn't, so I purchased the xtremeboot after seeing it in use on potrblog. This is the hight of fashion for radiation detectors. Easy on, easy off. Easy access to controls and...wait for it...a trap door in back! We radioactive fallout hobbyists call it an alpha window. You open it up and it lets in even more radiation! Ain't that great? Not to worry tho, the government says everything is oke-dokey. I was alarmed when it arrived (in timely fashion) to find the belt strap had been put on the bottom! After some cool, detached thinking I determined it was deliberate and would enable me to read the meter while "on the move". Come to think of it, that could come in handy some day.

The boot that I received was slightly different than the one pictured. The bottom end was smooth, not ribbed, like pictured. As a result, the inspector cannot stand upright on its own, when in the boot. A minor inconvenience. Also, the boot is larger than it should have been. It does not fit the device snugly. I had to pad it inside on the bottom, to keep it from shifting around. The rubber itself is nice and has no rubber stink to it at all.

Very pleased with this product. It is perfectly tailored to this delicate instrument and fits it like a glove to provides valuable and needed protection.The price is reasonable and the quality is excellent.

I had to return the detector that this is for. The detector was very good, but the size of the detector wand was larger than what I needed.

Protect your investment! Spend the extra money and buy this case! It's a good fit and it is thick but doesn't hurt the "feel" of the unit.

This is exactly what I wanted and needed for my radiation detector. Please note that there are apparently more than one brand that are identical or near identical to the most popular model that this is advertised as a fit. Mine is a Palm Rad 907, and this is a fit. The door that closes over the pancake is a really handy item.

Just yesterday I dropped my Inspector and I was very glad i had this protective boot on it.It also helps to make sure that your pancake detector is safe from dust as it has a cover for the tube that opes and closes (most of the time you won't be testing for alpha radiation so it will be closed most of the time.

Works well. Anybody who owns Radalert Inspector geiger should consider protecting the pancake probe window as it is vulnerable.Using the instrument often, I am glad I purchased this accessory.
