T95 S1 Android 7.1 tv Box with 2GB RAM/16GB ROM Amlogic S905W Quad-core Digital Display HDMI HD Support 2.4G WiFi 3D 4K

I have been using this unit for several hours, and have a few observations-1. It is a complicated device, with lots of setup and options, but the manual is barely four pages per language. Not a lot of useful info or detail there.2. I got this primarily to play files, including x265 files, from flash drives. It would be really nice if the remote had normal file playing buttons, like "play/pause", "stop", or "fast forward". Instead, you have to fumble through lots of menus. And using the remote for text entry is really awkward. I guess a dedicated mouse is needed.3. The picture quality of a 1080p x265 video was very good. But when paused and started again, it tended to go to black screen, and I had to start from the beginning. If I tried to FF to where it stopped before, it will sometimes freeze.4. The included KDplayer had issues playing some of my files, but I have had a little better luck after downloading VLC Player.What I really want is a small box that I can carry while traveling, can be connected via HDMI to any TV, and will play files from small drives in all the common formats. Having a sensible file system and easy controls would help tremendously.Update Jan 2020- after a couple of weeks where the image would sometimes freeze while the audio kept playing, it just died. I turned it on to watch some movies, and it is inert and useless.

Lets face it, its basically phone (without all the features) with an Android OS that can be connected to the TV and for a very affordable price. For the price point its a really good device, but (1) these companies have to do away with the standard remote they supply with these type of devices (I've owned a few) they are terrible when trying to browse the internet, don't get me wrong they work fair enough in most circumstances, but when scrolling, typing, copy and pasting is needed the remote is literally frustrating as heck, you will def need to buy a handheld wireless keyboard to really unlock the box's potential. Another thing is, stay away from boxes with less than 1GB of ram, after you put a few apps on these boxes the performance takes a hit, even when you install an SD card its still an issue, 2GBs and up will be better (even though you will still experience some lag issues here and there).As I said good box for the price point, but again they really have to stop issuing these boxes with the standard remote, it kills the user friendliness BIG TIME.
