Is this the kind of film that can be used on models (polystyrene, lol) and wont pull up preciously applied paint

I wouldn't suggest this prout for that use, it isn't an adhesive in a normal sense. It bonds to itself not the surface you're applying it to, so a full wrap or two is needed around whatever you are securing.

Can you start to un-roll, and re-roll what you unrolled to make 2 spindles instead of one ? (like to keep half of it at work, and half at home.)
