Not really quieter, but "cleaner".
Some people claim o-rings make keys quieter, but that's not really the case. I used these on cherry mx blue's and they did almost nothing to quiet the "click" which is fine, that's why I got the blue switches. What good o-rings do a good job of is quieting the "clack" of the keys bottoming out against the tops of the switches, thus making a more pure sound and without making the key stroke feel squishy, and these are no exception. A baggie of good o-rings for $6 and prime shipping is a hard deal to beat.

Excellent sound reduction on Cherry MX Brown Keyboard
I got these because my Cherry MX Brown keyboard is a bit louder than my old non-mechanical.The volume now is quite comparable, especially if you don't mash the keyboard. This reduces the travel ever so slightly, and I think it's actually useful on Cherry MX Browns or Blues because it keeps you from outright mashing the keys all the way down every time, so you can get that smooth glide typing feeling without the mushier Cherry MX Reds.It doesn't come with the key remover, but that's not necessary. Just pick the keys up vertically out off of the keyboard while gripping and wiggling slightly and you should be fine. I saw someone on YouTube remove them with a fork...
