Ultimate Ears BOOM 2 Portable Waterproof & Shockproof Bluetooth Speaker - Phantom Edition

We have a pair of these we use in the backyard and when camping or on vacation. If you're looking for really loud sound you may want a bigger unit, but for good sound quality at a reasonable volume, durability, ease of use, portability, and long battery life these are great. Using 2 speakers via one phone can be hit or miss on connectivity. I've fought with it on one Samsung phone until tweaking just the right BT permissions got it working finally, but another paired both right away with smart things. Using 1 speaker I've not had any problems with pairing connecting, and added a second one out of curiosity and to get more of a stereo effect. Battery lasts a long time, and charges via any Bluetooth power source. I haven't dunked one yet, but they've handled rain and spills without any issue, as well as being dropped a few times.

I don't know what else to say about this speaker, charge holds me for 2 + days with fairly heavy use. I've been in hospital for more than a year now and music keeps me sane, so quality sound is an imperative for me. Much cheaper than the Bose and the sound is comparable. I use it for spotify from my Ipad and for movies on my laptop and I also use it on the tv in my hospital room. This speaker has hit the floor 4 times now and no dents and absolutely no effect on the sound. This thing is rugged. I know it is not the latest model , but for my needs and the difference in price this is the perfect speaker. Less than $90 bought me fabulous clarity. Btw the built in equalizer on the app is fabulous as well, presets that are all customizable so I'm able to adjust for different rooms and uses. ( Monday night football would not use the same EQ as Miles Davis) Also this thing has volume to spare, I've gotten busted by the charge nurse for blasting Led Zeppelin @ 7 am. But hey you gotta live.....do it up right with this speaker!

I have tried so many other by speakers... This is by far the best! It does not sound like you are listening something coming from a box! Super crisp, room filling sound from one speaker. With that being said, because of it's size (like a 'tall-boy' beer can) it does not have the low-bass like non-Bluetooth speakers. Any bt speakers with extra-bass end up sounding worse than this speaker. That box effect. Anyway if you download the app, you can adjust the bass and everything else. You can also turn it on and off with the app or add additional ue speakers there. I paired it with my echo dot to play music through Spotify on command. I also take it in the shower and am trying it out ice fishing. Battery life seems to be great. Only had a week so far and a few hours of play time. Haven't needed to charge it. I am very happy I finally got this thing--waited forever for it to go on sale, but should have just spent the extra 30$ sooner.

I bought this on a bit of a whim because I really needed a good bluetooth speaker and saw the reviews, and honestly I'm really happy with what I've received! I had to play around with the EQ a bit because the way it was sounding at it's standard levels felt a bit mechanical to me (which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars), but with the adjustments, I'm quite pleased with the sound, strength, and build quality of the speaker. It is not the *clearest* sound I've ever heard produced, but it is still very clear and seems to get even better as it get's louder. And it get's loud. I was not expecting such full, 360 sound when I bought it, but it sure does produce. If that's something your looking for -- and it definitely sounds good -- this is a good purchase for ya. If you're really committed to high fidelity, maybe something pricier and more built with that distinct purpose is the right investment, but this is plenty good.

I can have excellent sound out of a nice ~ 7” round tower. Time lasts well. The Only negative thing I have to say is that the battery change is a pain. You can apparently pry it opens for new battery but you need soldering iron.. (Intructions on line). *But I bought another* hoping someone can tinker with my old & make it good as new.

Everyone in the family downloaded the app and now we can all use it easily, no time-consuming pairing each time a different person wants to use it. Long battery life. Great sound. We are learning to listen to music on a great speaker again. We got use to listening on our crappy iphone speakers. This speaker delivers quality sound, even refurbished. I picked this speaker because the dance teacher uses it in the dance hall for one-on-one instruction, and the sound is surprisingly robust, not tinny at all. Hard to believe it comes from the tiny speaker.

I’ve had this speaker now for several years. It still works great and has great sound. The carrying case I bought also makes it easy to store and carry it anywhere.

I fortunately got this speaker on sale but I wouldn't buy it again even at half the price I paid. The bluetooth connection works well and the sound quality is decent. The aux input on the other hand has major lag issues. If there is even a second or two of silence it will not pickup the next couple seconds of sound. If the new sound isn't loud enough then it will remain silent until there is a sound loud enough to wake it out of the weird sleep/lag mode it so easily falls into. This usual requires turning up the volume which also has a drawback. When you turn the volume up to max it lets out a booming beep that will make you jump out of your seat. It's not just me, I've let friends and family volume adjust to that critical threshold. It makes for a good laugh but really is obnoxious and makes you wonder what the manufacturer was thinking. One last minor issues include not being able to use it while charging. However, it does have a pretty good battery life so you just have to be proactive about charging it. If you're strictly using this as a bluetooth outdoor sort of speaker, this ones good but you can get better designed ones for cheaper.

It's superb works well sound quality is super .

Great portable Bluetooth speaker. Great crisp sound out of a tiny speaker. The size of the speaker is about the size of a shampoo bottle. The build quality is excellent and there is a good weight to it. The sound is crisp and clear and the mids and highs sound fantastic. Bass is lacking just a bit, but this can be expected for such a small speaker. The battery life is decent, but does wear down faster than I expected. With that being said, the speaker does charge fast. The range of the Bluetooth is great and the app you can download aids in controlling the speaker volume, and powering up/down. Definitely recommend this speaker

Genial producto, fantastico sonido

La batería funciona bien con sonido regular, si es muy alto se acaba pronto. Me es muy funcional.

Very happy with this speaker. Considering its compact size, the sound is great. It can also play quite loud too when you turn it up. The construction is very solid - it feels nice and hefty and high quality. Battery life has been great too. Used it off and on for the better part of a week before having to recharge it. The Bluetooth pairing has been solid and range is excellent too. Overall, I think this speaker is an excellent value. It sounds as good or better than much more expensive models and ticks all the right boxes for me.
