Reliable, sturdy, old technology
In the world of electronics, a device that's a quarter-century old is darn near antique. Yet, this SONY CDP-397 that I bought a couple of months ago for a fraction of its real value is working phenomenally well. The unit is well constructed, its function buttons strategically placed and it has been a workhorse in my current (unspecified here) project. If you can find one for under $100 by all means get it!BTW, it surprises me that resale value of such older single disc players is holding steady. Even though decades old, prices are near what they originally cost. I've seen a plethora of multi-CD units out there, but my experience over the years is they tend to develop mechanical issues. A single CD machine is the way to go, so buy a decent used one while they're still out there. The only other option is to play CDs on a DVD unit, which as of this posting remains the least expensive way to go. (I recently bought a SANYO model at the Big "W" for a quarter of a C note.)

Great
Works great, now I have two CD players that match...I use both in my community radio station to broadcast local pastors preaching...and they work wonderful, so nice to have two CD players that match...both CD players with controls in the same location...now I can announce and cute the preaching without taking my eyes off of the teleprompter ….Thanks
