Visioneer RoadWarrior 3 Simplex Mobile Document Scanner for PC and Mac, USB Powered Travel Scanner

I love this scanner. Convenient, easy to use.

I had a hard time installing this scanner. However once I figured it out it works great and iseasy to use.But beware the longer cable Amazon sugests purchasing with this product is not the correct one.

I didn't like the fact it was not just a plug in like printers and find it. This requires a cd reader and so that was an extra purchase. Install instructions were more confusing than I lot of things I have installed on computers.I finally got the scanner to work but not the way I wanted it for our plumbing company

Took RoadWarrior 3 to India for business use on road to scan receipts for expense reports and occasional multi-page documents.It occasionally worked but was inconsistent and wiggy. Wasted a lot of time getting scans. Upon return from trip, try to use again and noted that a very thin (cheap) ribbon cable connecting top half (white part) of scan unit had broken rendering the unit completely dead. Wanted to like this product as the weight and size are nice but reliability and quality is very poor. The lousy, cheap ribbon cable and clam hinge design is it biggest Achilles heel. Software interface was okay but not great with Windows 7 Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop. I cannot recommend this product if you want it it to work more than once and travel a lot to remote locations where you need something that works consistently.

Love it great price, great size

I've been a Visioneeer products user for many years. I would still be using my Storm PageScan USB scanner, except that there are no drivers beyond Win7. I had the original RoadWarrior scanner and it was very good, but, again, Visioneer didn't update the drivers to Win10 and I couldn't use it anymore. Now with the RoadWarrior 3, I can use the scanner with Win10. Like it's predecessor(s), it's very small, light and does a very good job with the tasks expected of a travel-ready scanner. However, I can't give more than 3 stars because I'm very disappointed in the software bundle that comes with it. OmniPage 18 is not compliant with Win10 and PaperPort hasn't been updated to work with Win10. I believe the only bundled program that works with Win10 is the PDF Converter Pro (which I don't need because I own Acrobat). All in all, it feels like Visioneer throws in a bunch of older, junky software, and since they OWN the software (through Nuance), there's no excuse. I'll probably abandon Visioneer next time I'm in the market and go with another portable, most likely Brother. I have a Brother All-in-One, and I'm impressed with the updates to the software package and the firmware that they push out on an infrequent basis.

We had previously owned a Visioneer Road Warrior Document Scanner and had been very pleased with it's performance. Based on our history with the product line--we went ahead and ordered the RW3-WU. It's even better than it's predecessor. It automatically straightens what you've scanned. Scanned documents are easily saved in PDF format. Instructions for set up and use are pretty easy to understand. The scanner comes with a storage pouch & cleaning cloth.

The physical device itself is very impressive in terms of speed and scan quality, especially for how compact and lightweight it is. However, it is important to mention the manufacturer software that comes with this device is absolute garbage. Do not install it unless you absolutely have no other choice. It is clunky and not intuitive at all. I would definitely recommend this scanner to someone else, but I would make sure they have other software available to them first.
