E. Aster Bunnymund and the Warrior Eggs at the Earth's Core! (2) (The Guardians) Hardcover – February 21, 2012

This is my kid's Easter gift so of course I read it first. Delightfully written short chapters to engage young readers (ages 5+) with plenty of fantastical action and good humor. The pace written with slow points building up action packed peaks. The characters are different and I love how their quirks & interests work to emphasize their typical characteristic attributes North's generousity of Santa and Bunnymund's care for new life. I'm hoping my kids love it as much as I do.

I love Nightlight and Katherine’s friendship, it’s so solid but easy going! And North is still a hell of a lot of fun, but I do wish we had more Bunnymund since he’s, yknow, supposed to be a major focus in the book.

I watched the movie Rise of the Guardians and how can you not love an Aussie 6'1" Bunny with boomerangs who can take on the bad guys. The bunny in this book is a bit more serious and intellectual and while I enjoyed Hugh Jackman as the Easter Bunny in the movie, I do like the more serious and wise E Aster Bunnymund character in this book. He's truly a unique Easter Bunny and I love his obsession with Egg shapes - what a way to bring humor into an otherwise ancient/wise Bunny. Oh and the whole chocolate thing is awesome - don't want to spoil it for when you read it.

This is the 2nd in the Guardians of Childhood book and it's where we are introduced to the Pooka that will some day become the Easter Bunny. It's a great follow up to the first chapter book which features a swashbuckling santa claus (pre-santa claus). This is such an enjoyable and quick read, a great choice to read to your kid at bedtime and you will probably enjoy it just as much as they do! I highly recommend purchasing this and saving a spot on your shelves for it.

I love finding a book, or a few, to the movies that I love. And it happened again. This series is awesome, and I love the magic behind it, and how simple it was told. I hope to get the hard cover for my nephew, who I think would have fun with it.TTFN

We bought this as a gift for my brother-in-law, who really has enjoyed this series. He appreciated it, and has enjoyed this book as well.

Gave this to 9yo for Easter. Within the first few pages it became apparent that this would be scary… talks about nightmares and terrifying children. Not going to help my kid sleep at night for sure! Very disappointed. We decided to put it away for a few years . Had to make Easter trip to the local bookstore for a different book.I do NOT recommend this book.

This book was very wonderful to the series. Bunnymund is a very lovable character and I love his interaction with North. He's deeply obsessed with chocolate and eggs though, and I mean the the serious-don't-mention-it-around-them kinda obsession. He's a great character though, despite his obsessions and how he didn't say yes in the beginning. Written well with great illustrations, overall great book.

Der zweite Band ist ebenso hochwertig verarbeitet wie der erste und ebenso schön gestaltet.Allerdings gibt es diesmal keine extra Geschichte auf schwarzem Papier.Sehr positiv fand ich, daß am Anfang zwar wiederholt wird, was im ersten Teil geschah, aber dies bereits in die Geschichte eingebunden ist.Dadurch ist es nicht langweilig, selbst wenn man den ersten Band gerade erst gelesen hat und nun direkt mit dem zweiten anfängt. Erst gibt es einen kleinen "Teaser", so daß man weiß, daß ein neuer Held auftauchen wird, dann wird an den ersten Band erinnert: Die Kinder von Santoff Claussen erhalten von ihren Freunden, die bei den Lunar Lamas weilen, Geschenke. Katherine hat ein magisches Buch erschaffen, um den Kindern zu berichten was im ersten Band und in den Tagen danach geschah. Da die Kinder Fragen stellen etc. werden dem neue Aspekte hinzugefügt, so daß keine Langeweile aufkommt.Mit Hilfe einer Zeitmaschine der Lunar Lamas erforscht Ombric die Vergangenheit und findet mehr über Pitch heraus, North trainiert mit seinem neuen Schwert und Katherine zieht eine Great Snow Goose auf. Pitch gönnt den Freunden jedoch keine Pause, er ist mächtiger geworden und greift Santoff Claussen an, verwandelt die Bewohner und entführt die Kinder zum Mittelpunkt der Erde. Um ihn besiegen zu können, brauchen unsere Helden das zweite Artefakt, doch das gehört dem schrulligen, eier- und schokoladeverrückten Pooka E. Aster Bunnymund, der seinen Glauben an die Menschheit verloren hat. Da hilft nur Feingefühl und diplomatisches Geschick, leider hat North so gar nichts von beidem...Der zukünftige Osterhase ist ein faszinierender Charakter und nicht so leicht zu mögen, wie die bisherigen Helden der Geschichte. Er ist ziemlich eigen und manchmal ist man sich nicht sicher, ob er überhaupt ein Verbündeter sein kann oder doch eher ein Problem darstellt. Erst zum Schluß wird einem wirklich klar, daß er gar nicht so ein verbittertes "Ekel" ist, wie er tut, sondern heimlich und unauffällig die Welt schon immer beschützt hat und hilft, wo er kann. Auch wenn er, wenn er offen in Erscheinung tritt, eher den Spielverderber markiert.Fazit: Die Geschichte wird sehr gut fortgeführt und ist ebenso fantasievoll wie der erste Band.

Das Buch kam in einem sehr guten Zustand und an den angegeben Tag hier an. Für die Lieferung gibt es aufjedenfall schon einmal 5 Sterne, dass war auch ohne Prime total zügig.Da ich das Buch nicht für mich selbst gekauft habe kann ich zum Inhalt nicht viel sagen, jedoch sind die Zeichnungen darin wirklich wunderschön und amchen dieses Kinderbuch echt aus.Es ist zwar auf Englisch, jedoch ein sehr einfaches Amerikanisches Kinderenglisch, sodass man es auch ohne Kentnisse sehr gut verstehen kann (ca.5 Klasse Englisch)

Wie viele hier in Deutschland habe ich zu erst den Film "Die Hüter des Lichts" gesehen. Im nachhinein muss ich sagen, dass mir die Buchreihe bisher natürlich viel besser gefällt als der Film ;-)Schade finde ich, ist es dass die Charaktere im Film überhaupt nicht so dargestellt werden, wie sie im Buch beschrieben sind!das Buch ist in einem sehr einfachen Englisch geschrieben, da es sich an Kinder und Jugendliche richtet. Aber ich verschlinge die Geschichte jedes Bandes auch mit 26 Jahren noch. Es ist eine absolut fantastische Welt in welcher einfach alles möglich ist! und wer seine Phantasie nicht ganz verloren aht wird diese Buchreihe lieben, egal in welchem Alter man ist!
