Just like the ones from my childhood in Germany in the 60's. going to get more for next season.

TEN stars for this product from vendor Saturniv!!! They arrived "Prioritaire" this afternoon - all the way from Riga - and I am over the moon with gratitude.My main tree is Victorian inspired. Tree candles are an integral part of the look, and my old clip-to-the-branches holders were nowhere to be found. After searching many places online for these babies, I decided that the price they were charging was worth it to me to be able to have them for the tree THIS Christmas (vs. the seriously cheaper price I have found from US vendors in years past and would undoubtedly be able to find during after-Christmas sales). I was dismayed when I saw the projected arrival date *after* I hit "submit order."After several back and forth emails bemoaning the fact that these tree candle holders would not get here until mid-January (ordered December 10th for my 12th Nite celebration, Jan. 6 ), they arrived almost an entire month **earlier** than projected - well in time for Christmas even! From Latvia. Ten stars for that alone, right?HOWEVER, they were ALSO a higher quality product than the ones I bought in the USA - the ones shipped from Saturniv were thicker, sturdier, and easier to keep upright on the branches of my [artificial] tree. The adjustable "gripper dealies" that hold the tree candles upright are also slightly bigger in diameter than the ones I used to have (which seem not to have made it through my last move).For skinnier candles (in anybody's holders with this design), you can squeeze the holder prongs together easily, but inserting even slightly larger ones hasn't usually gone so well. The specialty candles themselves I still have from years past (the ones also used for chimes, btw), so this tidbit is for the rest of you who may be new to candles on a tree. (You do NOT ever light them, by the way - serious fire hazard. They are for looks only.)I ABSOLUTELY would order them again from Saturniv -- but I now know that if the item is essential for a particular event, I need to leave several months lead time to make it from Latvia (October for Christmas, for example) In fact, I think I'm going to purchase a few more packs from these fine folks as soon as I see they become available again, so I can put them everywhere I have greenery -- NEXT Christmas!My tree is lovely - and next year will be even prettier (crowded with candles as well as ornaments and ribbons).
