Filter-Monster - Replacement Filter Kit with Pre-Filters - Compatible with Austin Air Healthmate FR400 Air Purifier Filter and Austin Air Models HM400, HM402, HM405, HM410, and HM450

Fit perfectly into my Austin Air Health Mate unit. I placed the filter in 1st. Then I linned up BOTH pre-filters, bent them into a circle and nudged them into the tight space around the filter. I began nudging one end a few inches, worked my way around, doubled up the ends and nudged them in. I repeated this as I'd push the filter to the opposite side by a few hairs but just enough to keep nudging a few inches at a time. I was able to get my fingers into the corner spaces to do the most nudging downward till both filters were fully inside the unit and surrounding the new filter. I placed the black filter on top because my unit is black and the tiny air holes tend to show the filter a bit so may as well match. For white or off-white units, place the white prefilter towards the outside of the unit if also using the black prefilter.So, I've been running my unit 24-7 for one week with this new label filter. I'm very satisfied as evidence by not needing to dust up fine dust off my black carved out headboard. I live near the freeway so fine particles and dust is an issue even with screens on my windows. Plus I have two awesome dogs who sleep in my bedroom. I suffer from alergies so good air quality is critical, as it should be for everyone. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this filter and super happy to save a lot of money. Brand name filters are overpriced just because a manufacturer has their own models. I'm so glad there's finally some competition and more people can afford better air quality, for their health and well being.

I havn't used this air cleaner for years cause the filters were too expensive. When we found this company we jumped on it cause the price is so so much better. But you don't know till you recieve it if it is really quality. Well this is better than the original filter and so effective. We love having it on. I was just Diagnosed with a lung disease and mold and allergins in a big problem for me. We put a sheet over our door and run this in a large bedroom, and the air is so clean, I have no symptoms at all when sleeping or relaxing. Thanks so much. Great kit value with main filter and both types of pre filters.

Filter is a bit heavy. may need help lifting the old filter out and putting in the new one. Serious filter however. And they do last a few years.

We purchased this replacement filter last year. Unfortunately, the fit wasn’t quite right during installation—I had to remove and adjust the seal to make it fit properly into the machine’s base.After about 18 months of use, I feel compelled to share that this filter simply doesn’t perform as it should. I’ve been using the same air purifier for over 15 years, and this has been the worst filter I’ve encountered in terms of cleaning indoor air. Even after running the unit for many hours, the air quality and odors remain noticeably poor.I’m very disappointed and will not be purchasing this filter again.

We’ve had both the austinair brand filter and this one.As a household with 5 dogs and 3 cats a purifier is a must.Our name brand needed replacing after 3 years, not the 5 which I assume is due to all the pets and hard wood flooring throughout the house.This brand has provided the identical filtering as the name brand and for the same amount of time.This purchase was just made but I’m assuming it’ll hold up like our prior purchase here and we’ll be good another 3 years.Excellent product and price.
