This Book Will Change Your Life

Got this book as a gift for a friend. Almost wanted to keep it for myself. Love reading through it and laughing at some of the things. Even the front cover has interesting stuff on it. It's a nice way to get yourself to do new things and get out of your comfort zone!

Can't say I will be doing EVERY task in the book but my boyfriend and I enjoy using it for date night. We like to open to a random page and do the task and generally have a good time with it! It's fun!

Caveat emptor: I have been keeping journals since elementary school, and only recently started looking into the genre of journal prompts, so this is a rather naïve review in span. I was looking for daily prompts to guide my writing during dry spells, and while this book does have a fair few such prompts, it's not designed for lengthy responses in the book itself.Do NOT mistake this for a self-help or life-changing mantra kind of book; sorry about the title. Many of the prompts are not the sort of thing for a gullible reader looking for a self-help book, or even just a fun self-challenge-mix-it-up page-a-day book (Jour 209: Smoke 60 Gauloises is certainly an expensive challenge, to say the least. This book does not help you quit smoking).This Book Will Change your life is a fun read -- and I mean en-ter-tain-ing -- but it is not exactly inspirational writing material. While all the prompts are hilarious (see Day 53: Return Your Junk Mail), only a few (like Day 320: Posterity Day) might get your creative writing flowing.If you tend to write a long narrative or stream of consciousness journal, this book can help you get there, but you'll need a blank book (I recommend anything from Moleskine to Eccolo to legal pads) to flesh out everything you might like to say in response to things like Day 271: Today, Talk to a Child, or Day 349: Today, Don't Answer the Phone. The book provides small, post-it sized "Notes" areas, which again speaks to a fun read, but not much to write.The Writers Benrik get 5 stars for entertainment value, but I give this 4/5 because I was looking for more of a writing journal. On the other hand, if you need something to spice up a party or even just enliven your coffee table, enjoy!

I bought this for a crush's birthday so that by doing the daily tasks, we would have something to talk about, and maybe have dates to do some of them. It has been working to some extent, but more importantly, I am enjoying the Book. It prevents you from taking life so seriously, some of the ideas are really creative, although you can get lazy sometimes and just not want to be bothered with its dictates.

I had high hopes for this book, if for nothing else, then as a chuckle-inducing bathroom read.I must say, I was gravely disappointed. The book literally did not elicit a single laugh from me, and most of the "suggestions" would only lead to you quickly becoming the supreme village idiot. The only reason I read the entire book was because I just had to know HOW bad this book could get. Quite bad, indeed, it reminds of a train wreck: so bad you just can't look away.Now, I consider my self to have quite the sense of humor, yet this book just did not deliver on any level. If you consider yourself levelheaded, I'm sure you will agree.If you want to read some real good chaff, go ahead and get this book. My copy is in the trash. I'm ashamed to have owned it.

I love this book so much! If you need something to do on a weekend definitely get this book. It literally makes you look at the world with rose colored glasses. It is a truly fun and inspiring book that really makes you think and open your mind to different possibilities. fun all around.

The book itself was in great quality and arrived as promised. The contents of the book, however, where not what I expected at all. The seller, 5 stars, the book, 2.

Ce livre est magnifique, si on cherche dans un genre un peu loufoque il est parfait, aucune page ne ressemble à une autre , il y a beaucoup de détails et une très bonne complicité que les auteurs cherchent à établir avec celui qui a ce livre.Pour qu'il reste comme neuf je conseille de le couvrir de plastique collant pour livre scolaire et il sera parfait!

This book is a lot of fun! Has so many different things to do da by day and it never gets boring!

I brought this as a stocking filler for Xmas and my boyfriend loved it. We had great fun reading through on Xmas day all the funny prompts it gives you to perform.The box was also of excellent quality and looked really smart. Great little extra to anyone with a sense of humor.

I bought this as a gift after someone gave me 'This Diary Will Change Your Life' a few years ago (where the content is exactly the same as this book). It has fun things to do every day although I don't suggest doing everything as then it really will change your life for the worse but some ideas could be quite fun and may very well lead to something better. It's a light -hearted book that you can dip in and out of which makes a change from all the serious how to live your life books which seem to be on shelves these days. Definitely not for children though as some of the ideas are a bit risqué.

Attention, âmes sensibles s'abstenir, ce livre n'est pas un livre de conseils ou de self help, c'est plutôt un projet artistique qui consiste à faire un sacré paquet de conneries ou de choses amusantes, c'est selon, dont certaines pourraient vous amener à être arrêté par la police (quand même!) ou à faire des choses vraiment absurdes. Bon, je trouve ça intéressant, mais irréalisable, certaines idées sont même très cons.Par ailleurs, le livre devait fonctionner avec un site pour tenir le compte de ses "exploits" or il ne fonctionne plus et n'est même plus accessible ce qui gâche un peu le goût du plaisir et l'idée de partager avec d'autres lecteurs. Dommage, c'est important de le savoir.Je crois que c'est un livre pour s'amuser mais sans trop se prendre ni le prendre au sérieux.
