Clairol Root Touch Up Permanent Hair Dye, 6A Light Ash Brown, Pack of 2

This has been my go-to root coverup product for years. I'm gradually moving toward lighter shades. The lower the number, the darker the color (4A is much darker than 6A, etc.). Lately, I've been using 2 packages (a 4A and a 5A, etc.). It gives me enough to do my whole head and even enough to comb through for the last 5 min. or so. I asked Clairol about combining 2 different colors (and using twice as much product). They recommended using only one bottle of the developer for two tubes of color. That makes the product less runny, which I think is an advantage. My hair grows fast, so I usually have to touch it up every 2 weeks. When you rinse it out after applying, DO NOT SHAMPOO. Just rinse. I do this in the shower, then check to make sure all the color goes down the drain. I try to minimize shampooing because the color fades, even though my shampoo and conditioners claim to be safe for colored hair.

Easy to use. Have been using it for 3 years. Number 5A covers grey hair very well but 6A couldn’t cover my greys in temple area completely and faded away in a week.

This brand is okay but doesn't seem to last as long as others. Seems a little darker.

Perfect for in between salon visits to cover roots, easy and not messy in your home bathroom!

Nice to get by mail as store is often out of my color. Very happy with gray coverage and how long it last. (4-6weeks)

I love this kit for the hair that frames my face

This is a great color for me but hard to find in stores. Product intact on arrival, no issues.

Normally a 5-star review, but they appeared to have changed the formula and it is now more runny which affects ease of application . The root and gray coverage still appears to be the same after using, but the previous thicker formula is better.
