3 modes to cycle through, albeit it cycles by switching ON/OFF, performs well under tests
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. MILYN 100w Multispectrum LEDI am reviewing the MILYN “3 Modes Led Grow Light Bulb 100W Full Spectrum Growth Bloom Adjustable 150 LEDs Plant Light Bulbs for Indoor Plants MILYN E26 Dimmable Led Growing Lights Veg Hydroponics Garden Greenhouse”Whew that’s a mouthful…!For the rest of the review I will call it the “The MILYN 100w (equivalent) Multispectrum bulb”Why did you slip in the word “equivalent”? Because this doesn’t utilize 100w of electricity, on the highest setting it hits a peak 20 watts of electricity. The usage of the “100w” verbiage is the “standard filament bulb comparison”. This is a synonymous naming convention with most ***LED*** grow lights. Ie: “1000w LED grow light” doesn’t utilize 1000 watts of electricity, rather an efficient one would only utilize 300-400 watts while delivering the bulb *equivalent* of a 1000watt HPS bulb, which actually draws 1000 watts, without dumping the biblical heat into your grow room. Not to get side tracked but to give you a comparison: If 300-400 watts sounds like a lot to you... it shouldn’t, this is the typical consumption of a low-end computer. A high end gaming PC typically contains a 750-1500watt Power supply and fully utilizes that if equipped and used properly…for something like….gaming….or video editing this review. For a power breakdown:On full spectrum the MILYN 100w multi spectrum uses 20w (max) on full spectrumOn red (bloom) 10-11wVeg spectrum 9wIn most parts of the US this equates to roughly $.60-$1.45 a month if you used the bulb for 14 hours a day 7 days a week, depending on the spectrum setting. The MILYN 100w (equivalent) Multispectrum bulb is currently priced at $31.99 USD. Some of you who are familiar with multispectrum LED grow lights might say this is pricier than a standard multi spectrum LED, which typically are priced around $20-$24USD…and you’d be correct. However there may be a justified reason. This LED has 3 modes, Vegetative, Bloom, and Full spectrum. All modes are cycled through by simply switching the LED on and off.Giving the user the ability to switch modes, in theory, should allow more focused growing options. Why say “in theory”? Because having the ability to switch modes is fantastic. I really appreciate that ability. However anyone who is seriously dedicated on growing with these will run into one small dilemma…utilizing any automatic timer will subsequently *automatically* cycle through the various modes.“What are you saying David? I don’t understand…”I’m simply saying that if you set a typical timer to turn the light on at 6am and off at 6pm the light would start off the first day on VEG mode (blue and white LEDs), the next day it would turn on and (automatically) cycle the mode to the next mode, BLOOM (red LEDs), and the third day it would be on Full Spectrum, the fourth day it would cycle back to VEG.Sure…you could always incorporate a “On/Off/On/Off/ON” into your timer programming and intentionally set the mode, but in my opinion this is not recommended.OMG this MUST be a dealbreaker!Amazingly…no. Although this did cause the 4 rather than 5 star rating…regardless of this quirk my recommendation for the LED is directly correlated to the spectral intensity, effective coverage, efficiency, and best utilization. It’s a good LED.I recommend this bulb for “domestic” use, definitely not commercial because of the “mode cycle quirk”. It is best for :Excellent for “Space Buckets”, thermally and intensity wise…this could be the “Space bucket Queen” albeit no “King” exists yet.Good for supplemental Bloom assistance (RED only)Good for focused growing projects.Good for seedlings and Vegetative growth for small to midsized plants and vegetables, herbs included.NOT good for supplemental or “seasonal” lighting as it has the (typical of this style) spotlight effect and poor intensity beyond 2ft.NOT good for commercial grows or stacking (combining) due to the “mode cycle quirk”.Each led bulb contains (surprise! Its in the name) 150 LEDs.After leaving the LED on for 24 hrs on Full spectrum (the “hottest” mode) the aluminum heatsink only registered a nice and cool 81F degrees (measured with a Fluke 561 infrared temperature probe (ambient temp was 72F).Using an Apogee Full spectrum smart Quantum sensor, the SQ-520, the light performs well. For this bulb I had to pull 3 groups of measurement for the 3 modes the bulb has.FULL1165-1200 micro moles at 4 inches368 micro moles at 8 inches(Sweet spot is between 8-10”)150 micro moles at 12 inches67 micro moles at 18 inches40 micro moles at 24 inches17.65 micro moles at 3 feet.BLOOM730 micro moles at 4 inches(Sweet spot is between 4-8”)190 micro moles at 8 inches93 micro moles at 12 inches40 micro moles at 18 inches23 micro moles at 24 inches10 micro moles at 3 feet.Veg (blue/white/)530 micro moles at 4 inches(Sweet spot is between 4-8”)140 micro moles at 8 inches63 micro moles at 12 inches28 micro moles at 18 inches16 micro moles at 24 inches7 micro moles at 3 feet. You’re not going to bloom any large fruits or vegetables and definitely not marijuana. It could be added as supplemental lighting (RED only) during bloom but better options exist.Overall this is a well made, efficient LED bulb with the (quirky) ability to cycle through spectrums.

Creative marketing, but works ok
This grow light has some creative advertising, but does work on in the end. First, this is definitely not a 100W LED grow bulb, as it only consumes about 20W. Also, the description says that this is dimmable, but that does not seem to be the case either. There are three light modes that it cycles between every time it is turned off and back on again which is ok enough once you get used to it. I wish that this had come with a socket with a cord and switch, but that was easy enough to obtain separately. In the end, this grow light does work well with my plants, but beware of the actual specifications before buying.

Great for keeping high-light plants alive through the winter
I have a number of plants that need to be brought in during the winter months, and they usually suffer, or sometimes die. This year, I decided to try a light to help the plants through the winter. So far, the light has done a great job with the plants that are nearby.I've attached a not so great picture of some of the new growth on my cinnamon tree since we brought it inside and in the light. The light has 3 modes: red light to encourage blooming, blue light for growth, and full spectrum that has both colors (all LEDs on). The light gets a little hot when in full spectrum mode. I keep it in the blue light mode so that the plants don't get stressed from blooming year-round.

satisfied with this fun of light.
I am really satisfied with this kind of atmosphere. my friends said it is so beautiful. Now this ghost weather is almost no light. I totally rely on this light. Actually, I want to talk to the big guy. If this era is really meaty, it’s true. I have to rely on this thing. I can’t always look at the sun every day. I used to wear a skirt because I didn’t use the light. Now it’s better for more than ten days.Friends also want to buy it for themselves , I have recommended them, There is also a great anti-professor, and there is no light next to it. The state under the lamp is out. In short, I am very satisfied. I recommend you buy it!

Description says it is dimmable. It’s not.
I needed a dimmable plant bulb and ordered this one, but it isn’t dimmable at all. You can switch between only the red leds on to only be white ones on to all on but you cannot dim it. Also it is not purple at all. False advertising seems to be quite a problem here.

Does the job
This product does exactly what it says it's supposed to do. It has 3 settings that all work just fine. My plants are growing great, and I have two of these.
