Amazed
There isn’t enough good things I can say about this combo set. Camillus has overdone themselves with this one. It is a very sharp and very sturdy machete and the small multi-use knife is awesome as well. Both of course have that great titanium blade we’ve grown to expect from Camillus that is a breeze to sharpen and holds an edge better than most products on market. Although it has a little weight to it; it is balanced perfectly and doesn’t cause wrist and/or arm/shoulder fatigue. The sheath is well made and of quality material also. While wearing it on your belt it stays put and doesn’t slide around or get in your way. I love that I can separate the two and carry only one or the other at a time. I highly recommend this Camillus Carnivore-X.

Wow, what a blade!
OMG! This "knife" is sharp! Cut myself just getting it out of the scabbard! Super lightweight, well balanced and stayed sharp after a whole day of brush clearing! The burly, gnarly-looking saw works great on larger limbs and is also too sharp to touch. I have no idea how I will sharpen it when it gets dull, I'll have to use a round file between the zig-zag of razor teeth I guess, but I digress. MAKE SURE TO BUY THE CARNIVORE X WITH THIS FEATURE! I've noticed some come with it, some do not.... The gut hook worked well for "grabbing" branches to pull them out of the way; though it cut through most of them with any tugging...! I bought the 12" for around the house and the 8" to keep in the truck and for backpacking to split kindling cut light firewood. After using the 12", I think I can leave my hatchet at home now. I am VERY impressed with the quality this knife/machete has displayed so far. I will be recommending THIS brand to all my friends as long as they keep their price-point and quality intact.

It has its role...
So, this thing is light, very very light, the handle is not great and under heavy use it will break. Its a chopper with no weight, and the durability will be about average, the handle is slick plastic when wet. The handle needs two things, #1 not to be w/e material it is, or dipped in rubber. and 2 the cross guard needs to be bigger, one slip and its tendons top or bottom with this thing. If you want a 25$ machete this prolly isnt your pick. If you are a bushcrafter this defintely isnt your pick. If you ARE and backpacker or hiker.. this may be your jam. its light, very light and very sharp, there are multiple uses for it when you are shedding ounces, it can saw but not well, not safely, but it can replace a pocket saw, it is wide enuff to replace a trowel, it "can" chop, but requires much more effort than a machete. its a jack of all trades but master of none type thing, the main thing it has going for it is its light, and itll do its job. and if you like it, youll buy another after a few trips, but for 25$ cant really complain

One of the best machetes in amazon
The sharpness that comes straight out the box is incredible. The size for the handle is great and fits great in hand for all hands. The quality you get is by far way more than what you get for your money. The stability is by far the most important thing. With a full tang this will never break on you. The appearance too is amazing and the sheath fits on almost every belt.

Super knife...save box rest of life?
Amazing knife for the price. A cross between a hatched, knife, saw and machete. Heavy duty. Only "Con" is the plastic handle. Will try wrapping in paracord or maybe Plastic Dip? Big selling point...Lifetime Warranty...but read the fine print: "Send the product in its original box for proof of purchase along with an explanation of defect." Yes, you must save the box for the rest of your life. You can register your product on camillusknives dot com. I sent an email asking if once registered I still have to save the box. Will update if they respond. Update: Put a section of 700/30-40C inner tube on the handle...much better feel! Had to apply heat with hair dryer to get it to go. See photo. Update 2: Washed the tube section with soap and water, improves the grip. Update 3: Correction...tube is a 700/35-43C. A tight fit, like a second skin. No word about warranty yet.

Great chopper in a shorter length.
I had used the longer version of this machete for many years and it was a perfect brush chopper. It was lost and this replacement is much easier to use in tight spaces. Makes quick work of brush. Solid and easy to hold on to the grip.

Versatile machete! What a great, timely purchase!
This machete has it all - sharp blade, serrated edge, smaller knife included...and the case attaches very nicely to your belt making it a handy device that is always available so you can be "at the ready". Ready for what, you might ask? Well, imagine you are in your backyard and a band of miscreants wander in and threaten to beat you about the head and face. Brandish the weapon to let them know you won't be toyed with. If that doesn't scare them off immediately you can throw the small knife at their leader to take him out. Use the business end of the machete to take care of the rest of them. When the dust settles, you can simply carve them up into manageable pieces using the serrated edge. (Pro tip: If you bury them, be sure to plant a protected species of foliage on top of them so the local law enforcement department will be less likely to go digging around). At the end of the day, the machete has proven to be your best friend. Definitely will be purchasing another one. We live in a bad section of town.....

The only blade sharp enough for Chuck Norris to shave with!
As soon as I opened it I had 3 slices in my leg that I didn't find till my blood was everywhere! It is solid too! I think if I was walking through the woods using this as a machete I would probably end up building a log cabin with it just because I felt like I could! Forget about slicing a finger, if you miss a swing you are going to need a new hand or leg arms. If you are going on a reality show and can take 5 items; PACK THIS! I'm going to need a mattress to lay this on so It doesn't fall over and cut my house in half.. It's like a light Saber without all the Jedi training!!!! P.S. Chuck Norris shaved with it, carved Mt. Rushmore, fileted 4 crocodiles and was still able to shave a hedgehog bald without waking it up! Ok, im going to bandage my leg now.

Wow

Perfect for everyday bushcraft
Wanted a good tool for clearing brush on hikes, stripping logs of bark and twigs, digging a poop hole, and cutting kindling. Found it in this Machete. Very sturdy, full tang, and the case is well designed. The handle is a little rough but you can wear gloves or simply use your hands once in a while and toughen them up a bit (yep I'm gonna have to do one of those)! and the trimming knife is cute. Careful the package is sharp I sliced my hand on the plastic opening the knife.

Ein "must have" für jeden Outdoorfan.

Monster knife
Worth the money. Awesome blades, the small one's handle should be wrapped in paracord and the big one's in hockey tape or thin leather as it is super plasticky and slippery when wet.
